I don't expect my opinion or that of 90% of the posters on this board matter a rat's ass to the admins, nor do I expect them to take any action no matter what the unwashed masses say, but I'll give it anyway.

Yes, I think TRD and Grits should be banned. Not because they hold opposing viewpoints than many, we have many contrarian voices on here. It is because their sole purpose is to start controversy by throwing a proverbial wrench in the works, usually in threads that have potential for good discussion. Case in point, the article on Cam's self-criticism. It was an excellent article worthy of solid discussion. Instead, it turns into a nonsensical discussion of Matt Moore and other drivel. That is not my idea of a good give and take.

A number of posters other than TRD and Grits consistently have a negative view of the team, but no one is calling for them to be banned because it is clear they are Panther fans first and foremost even if they do evaluate the team differently than the majority. And more power to them.

Talk about the role of trolls in driving site traffic all you want, but if those trolls have the effect of causing people to spend less time here, are they helping traffic or hurting it?

You know, it may be a facet of me expecting too much from the Huddle. I come here for discussions with people who are foremost, fans of the Carolina Panthers and supportive of the players that play for the Panthers.

There seems to be a thread of thought instead that is is a place for people to look at borderline titty threads and talk about racism in every other topic.

If it's the former, that's why I put together posts like my breakdown of a play that I did a few months ago, to share with like-minded fans reasons that we can be excited for the future, and post news articles about the team when I come across them.

If it's the latter, there's 9 billion other places on the internet I can find tits (uncovered ones too!) and if I want to talk racism I only need wade into a Yahoo! comments thread.

The reason I get so infuriated about the tolerance of posters like TRD and Grits and others is that other team fan forums are far more proactive in weeding out troublemakers and allowing their posters to feel they are in a like-minded area that supports the team they are a fan of. This is the largest Panthers forum out there, and yet I have seen more pro-Dalton RoTY arguments here than ANY Bengals forum, more obsession over Matt Moore than any Dolphins forum, and more RG3 douchiness than any Hogs forum. And the worst part is that I have friends among all those fanbases and forums, and I have discussed all three of those players in a more than favorable light, because I hope they all do well and have broken down aspects of their plays on other forums to the encouragement of their fans. But the trolls here. . .they're just assholes.

Lets get one thing str8. I didn't create the "I met Mike Shanahan" topic in the main forum. I commented yes, so if you have a problem with me commenting about a football player in a forum about the coach of said football players new team take it up with the man that posted the topic in the main forum in the 1st place...

No. Everything panthers55 said is the truth. Banning TRD would be us stepping closer to being SaintsReport. They do that to their own fans that don't beat it to Drew Brees and Sean Payton.

Grits, I didn't say anything about RG3 being a topic of conversation. It would be absurdly retarded to never mention players, coaches or such from other teams. Your method of trolling, however, is to apply one-sided standards to the accomplishments of Panther players in comparison to the rest of the league or other players you favor more, and then pretend that you're just being "realistic" and impartial when you're being anything but. On the troll scale, TRD may be a ten, but you're an 8.5.

TRD was a lot worse than he is now about a year ago, but the problem now is that he is so hated by a few people that any time he posts, troll post or not, the thread derails instantly. At least TRD will admit that he trolls, Grits won't own up to it and tries to pull of some bullshit persecution complex. Either way, their mere existence here is one of the reasons that I treasure the huddle. It's not over modded into one big circle jerk or panther jizz guzzling.

You know why that's a troll comment? Because IT ENTIRELY IGNORES all the evidence that shows Cam is doing exactly what you are telling him to do. How many articles have to come out about all of Cam's hours in film rooms, dedication to studying, footwork sessions at IMG, and heaps of analyst reports all saying that he's doing these things before you'll at least slightly acknowledge it? It's like saying "geez, I hope Obama closes the Democratic nomination, Hillary might catch up" three years after the inauguration: it just shows you're a f*cking idiot troll.
