wasent one of these new DEF coaches from a team that had on of the worse Dline in the NFL at the time..i think it was baker..it was one of them..that concerns me a lil
yes but he didn't have much to work with and he also had some very good ones as well.

the guy flat out knows his stuff and has more to work with here.

Thats exactly what you said; "

I said that was a big assumption....

and then Scott said;

I think its he isn't impressed with Jakes ability... which would make more sense.

but to speak about a contract being a reason a coach is "coaching hard" implies a grudge.

...just sayin....

The way I read it is that he doesn't care how much money Jake's contract is for or how long he's been the starter.

Coach expects the same drive and determination from Jake as he does from the other QB's fighting for roster spots. Not that there is any type of grudge, just that he expects Jake to work just as hard as the others.

I met Mr. Scot there. Hopefully I can post some pics and notes when I get home.

Couple of things off the top of my head...

Barnidge, Robinson and Moose got a lot of throws and all looked good.

RB Goodson really impressed Marshall and Harris with a wicked jump cut that was LT'esque.

Robinson and Beaver were the only two doing PR

Brown lines up a lot, all at LDE with Taylor taking many snaps on the right, don't know where Johnson was

Vincent looked fine at RG, completely recovered from the groin injury

QB Cantwell looked pretty good, nice footwork, crisp throws and decent velocity

How did Beavers look? Who looked better returning him or Robinson?

I know there's not pads, but just what you observe.

And from everything I've read about today, I'm excited about Goodson.

meeks interview..sounds like he has a lot of stock in lewis..as the starter..

It was nice to hear he wants to bring pleasure from the linebackers and corners, even though it will be minimal compared to the front four.

It was strange when he was talking about pressure to hear him mention Peppers then Brayton as our team's capable pass rushers. I suppose he said that just because Brayton was the starting end for most of time last year, but when I think pass rusher I don't think Brayton.

I'm excited about Brown coming in and hopefully Peppers stays, but I really think it is Charles Johnson that is poised to surprise some people next year.

Good interview though. It's nice to hear a coach actually talking about his plans for the team and the players. Nice to hear he think Godfrey has a lot of ability.

Freudian slip, my dear? ;)

Nobody wanted to touch the "Beavers in Pads"? I knew it was pretty disgusting, but not worthy of being a thread killer.

Guys don't like to think of Beavers in pads. :D

    • Tetairoa McMillan.   The last 28 1st overall picks were either a QB, DE, or OT. Seeing as I don't think we'd take an OT in the 1st and give up on Ickey as an LT yet and there doesn't seem to be a clear overall #1 type of QB or DE pick this year, it very well could be a non conventional #1 overall this year, at least in regards from the last almost 3 decades of drafts. If we didn't have Horn, I'd be more open to Hunter as a CB at #1, but we have him so another CB wouldn't be how I'd use a #1 pick.  And as much as I love Legette, if we have SB contending aspirations, I don't think Legette is a #1 on a team like that, but he damn sure is an elite #2 on a team like that.  He's more of the Smith/Higgins/Waddle to Brown/Chase/Hill (in terms of role/impact, not style of play of course). T-Mac is going to be the top ranked WR on every team's board in the end.  He is going to be a true outside #1 WR who is viewed as a consensus Top 5 WR in the game by his second contract in the same way guys like Jefferson and Chase have done.  His height combined with his speed, athleticism, and hands are near impossible to find all in one player, there is a reason his generally used comp is Mike Evans (although as he's not as thick, I personally see him more as an AJ Green). Yes, as an Arizona alum I've admitted to having bias towards the player to begin with.  But he's also someone very widely being put into the Top 5 in mock drafts lately and most of them have him as the first non QB offensive player being taken, so it's not really THAT much of a homer pick on my part anyways. If a QB or DE truly separate themselves as being a can't miss prospect come draft day, I'm open to that discussion, but until then, or if it doesn't happen, T-Mac is my pick 100 times out of 100.
