You can have a minimum of 3 and maximum of 6. They can be distributed however the team pleases. Doesn't have to be two captains for each 3 phases of a team. There can be 2 for offense, 3 for defense, and 1 for ST for example. Or any combination.

With that said, Cam will be a captain. Whether that means Gross, Smith, and Cam all share it on offense or Smith giving it to Cam (Smith was named captain because we no longer had a "franchise QB"). If not, I think it would be a huge mistake.

Here we go again...................

Here we go with what?

It is documented per guys in the Panthers organIzation Smitty has never been a lockerroom leader and always been more of a loner.

Nothing wrong with that. He has always set a tone with his play others should follow. That and years in the league have earned him a C at times.

Comical based on what we know that some pimp him as a great lockerroom leader.

-He has punched an alleged 3 teammates.

-In 08 his teammates confronted him that everyone has always walked on eggshells around him.

-He has never shown to be a good mentor for young players overall.

Let Smitty be a bad mofo who sets the tone with his work ethic and play.....painting him as something else is silly based on what he has shown here

I don't know if it was ever confirmed, but I remember hearing last year that Cam almost got it as a rookie, and it was a close vote between him and what was believed to be Smitty.

So yes, he'll get it this year.

So is it voted on by the players or appointed by the coaches? Or a mixture of both?
