Now We Can Talk Football Without The Trolls Or Newbies Involved

I suspect bitching from people that they were being excluded and lack of traffic in the forum killed it.

would u confirm or argue that those eligible to go there are the most informed or knowledgeable when it comes to panthers football or football in general?

Regarding the schemes.....

Will we come out in the pistol formation and continue what we did last year or was that a function of doing the best we could with no off-season and installing on the run? In other words with more time to develop and implement the scheme will we try more traditional pocket passing, or continue the spread option scheme we ran last year which is what opponents will be preparing for. Or we will do something new like run a triple option or something else?? Isn't Chud a master innovator?? How many times will be put Tolbert, Williams, and Stewart in the backfield at the same time??

These are great questions.

But, even if the offense Chudz ran last year was merely a function of a truncated off-season the results were optimal.

The choices are not mutually exclusive in my eyes.

I think the offense from last year will be the foundation for this year.

People can say what they want but if the league/defenses had 'caught up to Cam' it sure didn't look like.

Based off Chudz implemention of various cutting edge (for the NFL at least) spread/zone-read and option concepts I'm sure he'll look to expand that aspect of the offense as well.

The "Auburn" concepts gave defenses fits, especially on the goalline I'm sure Chudz will give defenses more new/original looks to worry about and attempt to figure out.

Now will it be Pistol specifically? Who knows?

But, at the end of the day Chudz roots are in the San Diego/Coryell offense.

Therefore I think the offense will takes some steps towards that direction as well.

Norv ball will require more typical "pro-sets": I-Formation, Offset I,Power I.

Norv ball will bring some downhill running and play-action.

Imo this is where Tolbert comes in, you can't run I-Form without a good FB and Tolbert is one of the best in the business.

With that being said I can't think of too many instances where you would have all three backs on the field together.

But if Chudz is gonna play more Norv ball (for lack of a better term) some WR talent has to emerge outisde of Smith because that style offense is predicated on good WR play and typically features bigger WRs.

The spread stuff which is more or less by Cam driven by Cam is less dependent upon big WRs compared to Norv ball.

I have no doubts about Cam's ability to execute Norv ball though, because imo Cam has more pure arm talent then Rivers.

And Chudz is a great teacher.

Can't really comment on anything else because I fast forward the (Direct TV NFL short-cuts) when you guys are on defense.

Number of posts doesn't equate to informed or knowledgeable in all cases. Then again being an elder doesn't guarantee wisdom or intelligence either. But there is some logic to the concept that by 5000 posts hopefully a poster has been around long enough to figure out how to behave at a minimum. There are a number of posters with that many posts who prove that to be too optimistic as well.

Nesbit at UT and Smith taking Martins spot.I think teams will double team Smitty and Cam will be looking more to LaFell .I see us running to the right more alternating Dwill and Stewart and Tolbert used in short yardage situations. If I was a DC I would contain that long pass to Smitty making Cam throw shorter routes in the middle of the field as he has a tendacy to float some.
