Jeffri Chadiha's Top 10 Receivers

Recommended Posts

Actually production isn't production and we're not talking about rushing the passer.

A slot receiver isn't even on the field in base personnel.

The X, Z receivers are counted on to win their match-up often times against double coverage.

The slot receiver is rarely doubled and usually draws an inferior DB then the X or Z receiver.

The slot receiver is counting on the X/Z receiver or the scheme/play design to create the space for them to gain their receptions.

That's why a slot receiver is inherently inferior to a true X or Z receiver.

(I think you already admitted that Smitty is greater then Welker would be in this offense.)

But do you think Welker can line-up as an X or Z receiver and match the production of any of the other WRs mentioned here?

I hear what you're saying and I think Welker is a wicked smaart/good WR but personally I just don't rank him up there with true X or Z receivers.

I think Welker is a niche WR. He just happens to fill that role better than anyone in NFL history.

....and Larry Fitz couldn't fill Welkers role. Just like Welker can't hang in Fitzs

We didn't have Jake that season. It was the year we went through QB's David Carr, Vinny Testeverde, and Matt More, etc.

Smith had 7 TDs in 2007. Jake threw 4 of them...and over a quarter of his yards.

Moore and Jake were the QBs for the bulk of his production in 2007. Which is why I said those 2 didn't suck

Fitz would be an absolute monster in the slot anyone of the upper echelon receivers would.

But, it would make zero sense to cripple the passing game by take an elite X receiver and making them a niche player.

If you play an elite receiver in the slot then you better have a good enough 3rd WR or else defense will play the 3rd WR playing on the outside 1-on-1 man to man while the defense doubles the slot.

After the top 3 it is murky....Welker belongs in that murky mix.

I don't love Welker. Gotta appreciate what a machine he has been.

How many elite WRs play in the NFL? There are more elite WRs than elite QBs.....

All I have said is Welker is elite. Can argue based on the last half decade, while playing a different game, has been just as good as Smitty

After the top 3? Oh god come on now. Alright do this for me list your top 5 receivers in order so i can really see how much of a idiot you really are, Not really a idiot i guess more of a Welker nut lover. so do that for me please. :)

See...that is where Welkers speed, acceleration, and hands gets overlooked. You can't just plug in any WR and expect great results. Not all the uber studs have the skill set to part of the quick hit/extension of the ground game Welker has made his trademark. Fitz doesnt have the skill set to allow him to run some of the routes/plays as well that Welker makes his living on.

One of the biggest things that makes Fitz an elite WR is his ability to go up for the ball. best in the game. His biggest strength would be a non factor....and that would make him less of a WR. DeAngelo is a GREAT runner.....ask him to fill Forte's role.....he isn't as good. You can't take studs and claim they will be the same stud regardless of what is asked.

Top 3 is easy. Megatron, Fitz and Andre. When healthy they are the best at this stage. 4-5.... Is debatable with 6-8ish...or possibly 10. No clear cut 4-5.

If you trying there is a clear top 5 I would call you the nut. I hate NE by the way.

But Anyways here are my top 5.

1. Calvin

2.Fitz

3.Smith

4.Andre

5.Brandon

Steve Smith isn't better than Andre at this point. That is homerism. Smitty while still elite isn't at the peak of his career. Johnson went down last year at his peak

You only say he isn't peaking because of his age. In fact, his second best statistical season was last year in terms of yardage.

You think Steve Smith is peaking now? Come on....

not his age. He doesn't have the burst he did years ago. Which is why he use to take a screen for 10 yards with relative ease vs. fighting for less now. The guy who put in the greatest YAC season in NFL history 7 years ago....isn't still at that peak. That ain't a knock on him. Smith knows it.

I didnt say he was peaking now i was just saying he isnt on his back burners yet, I mean the dude just had the second best season of his career last season.

I didn't say he was washed up....just that Andre Johnson is better now (pending he is healthy). Smitty is an elite WR still. There are more than 3 elite WRs. More than 5. Which is why I say Welker is elite.

Also, I would say 05 and 08 were both better years for Smitty than 2012. I'd put 2012 as #3 or #4. He was a monster in 08....

2005

2008

2003

2012

Ya he was a beast in 08 season but when has smith not been a beast lol. I mean just think if he had calvins build with his attitude and his innerflame be crazy to watch.
