Jeffri Chadiha's Top 10 Receivers

Recommended Posts

@Cra

My list is up, I won't discuss Welker any longer. Where's your list?

Is that your ranking? How many elite WRs are there in the NFL? Where is your line drawn. You got Welker at 7.

I don't care where guys a ranked so much....that is cloudy. My stance is Welker is elite. I think there are more than 3-4 elite WRs.

I got

Megatron

Fitz

Johnson

(Smitty, Welker, Jennings, a few others in the next tier) and I consider them all elite. Order isn't concrete.

I don't have DeSean Jackson in that mix. He has a great skill set and can do great things. Not elite yet. Not a consistant nightmare like a Welker

Smitty is the elite slot style receiver in the NFL, not Welker.

No he isn't.

Again, production matters. Not what you think people could do.

Just like Smitty looks like the opposite of what a #1 WR should be....

"Smith started 15 games for the Panthers during the 2007 Carolina Panthers season, and led Carolina with 87 catches, 1,002 receiving yards and 7 touchdowns despite playing with four different starting quarterbacks due to injury to starting quarterback Jake Delhomme." -Per Wiki

And you want to keep bringing up the whole "Wes had Cassel and did this and that". Smith had a thousand yard receiving year with a team that had 4 quarterbacks throughout the entire season.

Smitty>Welker ;)

In this offense or it asked to be a traditional number 1 WR....again.... Yes, Smitty > Welker.

Not sure what your wiki quote means. Jake and Moore were pretty good in 07. Better than Cassel....Cassel was a joke.

Well it isn't tough math....but Smith averages more frequent drops when compared to his receptions.

And Smitty is > than Welker in this offense or if asked to take on the role of a traditional #1.

Welker is a different WR. Asked to do different things. He is arguably the greatest slot man in NFL history.

Welker and Smith are different and play the game different.....you are too focused on why Welker isn't like Smith. Like I pointed out....look at Welkers touches and lack of fumbles compared to Smith....Smith needs to go down often when he doesn't.

Welker is an elite WR. Patriots also went from being a running/defensive to a uber passing team when BB realized what Welker allowed Brady to do.

Well maybe you should go to the patriots forum and talk about Welker if you like him that much to even say he is one of the top 5 BEST receivers in the league, Definitely top 10 but not top 5 i mean you gotta think your sitting here saying smith should go down sometimes instead of fighting for yardage 0_0 come on now.

We didn't have Jake that season. It was the year we went through QB's David Carr, Vinny Testeverde, and Matt More, etc.

Does it matter what position rushes the passer as long as it works? Production is production.

Actually production isn't production and we're not talking about rushing the passer.

A slot receiver isn't even on the field in base personnel.

The X, Z receivers are counted on to win their match-up often times against double coverage.

The slot receiver is rarely doubled and usually draws an inferior DB then the X or Z receiver.

The slot receiver is counting on the X/Z receiver or the scheme/play design to create the space for them to gain their receptions.

That's why a slot receiver is inherently inferior to a true X or Z receiver.

(I think you already admitted that Smitty is greater then Welker would be in this offense.)

But do you think Welker can line-up as an X or Z receiver and match the production of any of the other WRs mentioned here?

I hear what you're saying and I think Welker is a wicked smaart/good WR but personally I just don't rank him up there with true X or Z receivers.

After the top 3 it is murky....Welker belongs in that murky mix.

I don't love Welker. Gotta appreciate what a machine he has been.

How many elite WRs play in the NFL? There are more elite WRs than elite QBs.....

All I have said is Welker is elite. Can argue based on the last half decade, while playing a different game, has been just as good as Smitty
