Jeffri Chadiha's Top 10 Receivers

Recommended Posts

Then why in boy George would I rather have the likes of Calvin Johnson, Andre, Larry..rather than that poor bloke Wes. I say, his hands are good John, his hands are good...but..the man is overrated I say! Overrated! For he wants Megatron type of silver!

Wes Welker is like Smitty. Other than the fact Smitty has burners..Smitty can go up for the ball in jump ball situations. Smitty is intense and will get YAC AFTER CONTACT. You can ARM TACKLE Wes. Yes, he will catch the 5-8 yard slant over and over when the opposing LB'ers rush and Brady picks up the read.....But he doesn't deserve the type of recognition as some of the Elite Wr's in the league. Think about it like this, Wes is like the non elite version of the SAME WR Smith is... Similar style, shape, and he's close to Smitty's speed.

He caught an awful lot of 5 yard slants but yet he averaged 13 yards a catch....

Holy poo! That must mean that he ran the other 8 yards, before falling down in front of a defender..or running out of bounds! x)

Look at the top 5 greatest yards after the catch seasons by NFL WRs......Welker has 3 of the top 4.

That would contradict what you are implying

Not really. It just means he's good at getting a few more yards after the initial catch. Lol I am implying he's not the athlete the elite WR's in this game are. Plus, he's only had one good playoff game out of seven. SEVEN. Plus the infamous drop from last year..

Look CRA, I understand that nothing I say is going to make you change your views. Our opinions are our opinions, and mine is that Welker IS NOT a top 5 receiver. MAYBE top ten. Regardless, I've spent WAY too much time talking about a player that plays for the team I hate the most. Welker is "good". He's "usually" a sure handed receiver, that is quick and will get a few more yards after the initial catch...but to say that he's "elite" or even mention him as one of the top 5 WR's in the game?

Well, like I said he has 3 of the top 4 best YAC season in NFL history by a WR. Initually someone claimed he flopped after catching it and now you claim he is okay after the catch.....but what he has done still counters that.

Like I asked, by your standards what makes you elite?

Is a WR only elite if he can play one role.....and that is as a traditional #1?

Welker has the production and play to be top 5....and he had the same production with Cassell. Teams like NYJ see the need to have the best CB in the NFL shadow him for an entire game. If a defense fills the need to put Revis on you...you are probably legit.

First off, I don't see a WR like Megatron, Andre, and perhaps in the future AJ Green as a traditional #1's. They are freaks of nature. You cannot deny it. And Welker CAN run with the ball after the catch....until he falls down in front of a defender, or runs out of bounds. He's a soft Steve Smith. And whats with throwing Cassells name in there? It's not like the man is trash heap garbage. Dwayne Bowe has had 3 1000+ yards seasons out of the 5 he's been there. Those aren't bad numbers.

I bet you didn't even realize that Wes Welker is 2nd in most ball drops..only behind Brandon Marshall the past two years..

He's just a "good" slot receiver who flourishes from his QB and team because the lack of running game has the Pats passing a large amount of the 60 min.

LOL, just a "good" slot WR....he is THE NFL slot WR. Potentially of all time.

Welker does have drops....He also catches more balls. Smitty drops the ball more frequently if you want to go off stats.

Also, in regards to the soft remark....how many touches does Welker have vs Smitty? Now look at how Welker has zero fumbles despite all those and Smitty many in comparison despite less touches....Smitty often would be better off going down at times
