Brandon Hogan Concedes He's Still Not 100%

Recommended Posts

Who knew there were so many amature surgeons?

again, not surprising.

lafell drops 3 balls in 3rd day of OTAs (first one that is open to media) and "this is seriosus. this is disappointing! He needs to get his act together". meh...

logan says he's not 100% yet (although he's probably around 95%) because sometimes he feels a little swelling and soreness and "this is concerning because after 2 years (although it's not really been that long) he should feel no soreness or swelling in my not-at-all-an-expert-opinion. we're going to suck. hurney sucks." meh....

A lot of times when athletes still feel pain and havent played, it's more of a mental/confidence thing than anything.

You constantly hear players talking about "trusting" the knee to perform.

There's a lot of theories about it, but a good one is that the body isn't used to recovering from a traumatic injury so quickly, and is still in the "poo don't use this thing yet" mode.

Nope, then our needs start stockpiling. Gross is getting old, we need his replacement....soon. If Otah doesn't step up we need his replacement. Smitty is getting older and we need his replacement.

If gross lasts 2 more seasons we wont need to find his replacement. Just a servicable starter. Elite qbs do not need an elite left tackle or all-star recievers for that matter.

Elite QBs who carry a team with their offense.....usually have an elite WR. Brees IMO is the only exception. Manning, Rodgers, Brady have had them during the years the offense drove their teams. Some have had multiple elite recieving options

Sit him for OTA's

Not really sure how you can, if you want him to play.

You have to get them on the field to see if he can play, as he hasn't proven that yet.

Beason and Davis you can sit as they are both proven players, and vets.

We HAVE to stay healthy this season. We can't rush anyone back.

We can't have any potential starters getting injured this offseason.

sit him for OTAs?

soreness/swelling is probably coming from lack of use and, like fiz said, it might be a mental thing that most people/athletes go through when recovering from a major injury and surgery...he might not just be trusting it and it might be in his head. not a big deal right now.

it's better to get him moving and get that knee used to the work than make him sit.

if the coaching/training staff were really worried they would probably have him sitting. that they aren't/weren't means he's good to go.

Rivera and the rest of the team need to know if he can play, you can't sit him. He has not shown that he can get it done in the NFL.

Sit him for OTA's and Capt. will win the job no doubt.
