What Nfl Lb Do You Think Luke Will Closely Resemble?

I think BC blitzed him so little because they preferred him in coverage on passing plays. I expect we will do the same, and bring the blitz from elsewhere.

As far as who he compares to, I would ask the following:

1) Which backers have the best vision and reaction time?

2) Of these, who are also great in coverage?

3) For the few that are left, which ones are also sure tacklers?

Answer these questions and you will have a good comparison.

those are good questions, and thats why urlacher comes to mind. but since he wont be in the middle, at least for now, then lance briggs and derrick brooks are others that had similar roles.

If he turns into Derrick Brooks I will be so happy lol.

Talk about hitting home runs back to back. Cam Newton and Luke Kuechly baby

especially when his biggest scouting knock was how infrequently he blitzed or made plays in the backfield.

How can a dude be knocked for something his coaching staff controlled?

If you look back the biggest knock on Clay Mathews coming out was his poor blitzing technique. We all see how that turned out.

i dont know, i didnt make up the scouting reports. maybe question mark should have been used instead of "knock". what he has proven is that he can play sideline to sideline. what he hasnt proven is that he can be a threat at pass rushing, but for some reason, people here want to make it up that he can or will be.

He has the build for it and the quickness. While pass rushing is an art form I don't think Rivera would have picked him if he did not believe he was a complete LB.

I think he is versatile enough you could use him different ways in different schemes ....at least those are my hopes. If someone could find the sports science footage on this guy it is impressive. His initial burst of speed was ridiculous and hit harder than Dwight Freeny. I linked it a pre-draft post but it does not work any more.

I think he is athletic enough to be used in a variety of ways.....much will depend on the health of Tdavis and Beason.

i do too, i think he can play any 4-3 lbr position at a high level, but i'd be very surprised if he was used as a 3-4 olb, only because he hasnt shown he can or just hasnt had the opportunity to... it just doesnt play to his strengths.
