What Nfl Lb Do You Think Luke Will Closely Resemble?

I think a lot of people are underestimating this kids unique combination of size, athleticism, and speed. His combine numbers are similar to those of Patrick WIllis when he came out of college. If Keuchly plays to his potential, he could be arguably the best in the game at his position a few years down the road.

This is just my thinking but the way we are drafting and picking up FAs down the road we could see a lot more 3-4 with Beason and Keuchly in the middle working in tandem. Like two guided missiles that strike on impact or can cover the whole intermediate zone.

I agree with your statements. An LB core of Anderson, Kuechly, Beason, and Davis could make for an extremely formidable defense coupled with Johnson/Edwards/Hardy up front. The biggest thing this defense will need to improve is health above anything else. If Beason, Davis, and Edwards can somehow stay healthy this defense is going to be greatly improved from last season. I'm not optimistic about Davis, however, but I do wish him the best and really am hoping for a miracle because he has been a favorite of mine since he was drafted. I think the competition in camp at CB2 and Safety will allow two solid starters to emerge at those positions as well and they will play well throughout the season with their jobs constantly being challenged.

Completely different type of LB. I'm hoping for a Briggs type player.

kinda sad how people here quickly forget this. he would be a mlb on almost any other team except we have a proven stud that it is not worth moving him(beason). we dont have really any clay matthews types on this team. this thread is more embarrassing when people compare him to pass rushers

especially when his biggest scouting knock was how infrequently he blitzed or made plays in the backfield.

It's not his fault, that wasn't the scheme he was called to play at BC.

I love it when people say that someone can't do something even before that person has ever tried to do it (I'm not saying that's what you're saying, but a lot of people say or think this way).

I'm going to laugh hysterically at people when this guy ends up playing WLB and being a great pass rusher.

Then all the people that had doubts can really marvel at Kuechly's ability.

I think he'll be a WLB, I just think its funny that some people are comparing him to a 3-4 OLB. In the end I hope he doesn't compare to anyone. I hope he stands alone.

i personally didnt say he cant, but if his strengths are in coverage and sideline to sideline, then i expect thats what he'll do. of course he will blitz, make plays in the backfield on this team and in this system. but even as an olb in a 4-3, the responsibility typically is not to rush the passer, thats why you have de's. and i would almost be willing to bet, any 3-4 looks he will be in the middle.

i wont argue though, if anyone woulda said cam was gonna throw for over 4,000 yards last yr before the season started, they may have been mocked b/c he has never done it. and i wont be the guy who says a professional athlete at this level can't do something. regardless, i have high hopes and expectations for the guy, and the more versatile he is, the better the defense will be. but we can all agree, he is not a 3-4 olb like clay, LT or others that may have been suggested.

Yeah, I understand. I am also unsure why he isn't at SLB but Rivera knows best lol.
