What Nfl Lb Do You Think Luke Will Closely Resemble?

Not because his he is white but the Urlacher comparison is valid. Urlachers main standout skill is his speed, coverage ability and ball skills in a giant 6'4 frame. He is also a thumper.

Keuchly, is being touted as one of the better cvg linebackers ever(quote from Mayock" he is the best cvg linebacker I have scouted!") ran a similar 40 time and is 6'4.

He has great playmaking skills and Im sure he will thump a few guys in the NFL.

If he is Urlacher, Cushing, Curtis Lofton, Jerrod Mayo or a larger Jonathan Vilma...he will be great.

Lol at Barret Rudd and Brooking comparisons...that is the: they are white too!

"The Will will rarely blitz, and will cover many intermediate and short routes. The Mike Linebacker is primarily charged with playing zone coverage in the middle of the field, however, Mike also blitzes more often than any other LB, and is integral in a zone blitz. The Sam is charged with covering any runs towards the outside of his sector, and will often cover short routes in the flat; Sam will blitz on and off during the game depending the flow of action."

I think he mentioned him as Sam because he would usually line up over the TE. He seems like he may be able to cover these dynamic TE's better than anyone else on our defense.

Really my response to that was because some people keep saying WLB is not where a guy with good coverage skills should play. The fact is that in this D the WLB will cover on a regular basis. If we were playing cover 2 base like we did before the WLB would rarely be in coverage, not the case in this D.

technically, all lbr's in a modern 4-3 defense better have some type of coverage skills.

Precisely, which is why "Kuechly at WLB=dumb move yo, homeboy good at pass cover" makes no sense. On passing downs the WLB will be in coverage more than the SLB, who would definately be blitzing on at least a good amount of those downs if we do indeed run a JJ 4-3.

i could be wrong but I think of sam lining up over the TE. If he is as good in coverage as touted, i'd rather have him on the TE than blitzing. of course this would vary, but for the majority.

for the #10 pick, i hope we aim considerably higher than Erin Henderson. I just don't see him playing the way Von did last year, but if he matched his production, that would be significant.

Henderson was one of the best outside linebackers in the league last year.
