Assault Rifle Newb

SN03

Recommended Posts

I've caught the firearm bug again & want to purchase my first AR-15 carbine. I have a Glock 30 .45auto, Mossberg 590 12gauge, & plenty experience with firearms but not so much assault rifles. From what I've been told the best way to go is to build one, but I don't have the time or experience to do that. Reading online it seems the S&W M&P 15 is the best bang for the buck on entry level AR's. I want a 16" barrel chambered in 5.56 NATO/.223 Remington. $1200 is the max I want to spend, under $1k would be great.

I know most of you probably aren't legally allowed to possess a firearm, but any info/advice is appreciated. :P

This should be my complete arsenal by mid-summer, funds permitting. I get near dealer pricing & all brand new should run me close to $2,600:

S&W snub-nose .38.................summer carry/backup

Glock 30 .45acp subcompact...concealed carry

Glock 20 10mm full size.........woods/hiking

Stevens Arms Co .22/.410......small game

Savage Axis .30-06..................large game

Mossberg 590A 12 gauge........home defense

AR-15 .223/5.56mm...............zombies, saint fans, etc

An AR15 is not an assault rifle, only Fully automatics are considered assault rifles!

I have an Armalite and it cost about $1200. I have shot more than a thousand rounds through it without any problems. However, I would recommend saving a little more money and buying a Daniel's Defense or Bravo Company AR.
