For one he could sign the tender.

If he does that he will have no negoitating power. If he holds out he can negotiate with the team that they wont franchise him next year.

He's the worst agent because he's done absolutely nothing it seems to get his client traded other than make public statements saying Peppers wants to play in the 3-4, Peppers wants to play for these four teams only, etc. Carey and Peppers are the only ones who can talk to teams about Peppers. The Panthers cannot do anything, other teams cannot contact them and anyone who might have been interested in Peppers is probably turned off by the way he handled the situation in such a public manner. That and the fact that he still wants to be the highest paid defensive player in NFL history despite the fact that he is 30 and wants to play a new position. I'd say Carey has done very little to actually get Peppers out of Carolina. If he really wanted to leave he would have signed the tender, but he thinks because he is an All-Pro that he can dictate where he wants to go too.

peppers will be gone or in camp. it is one or the other. their is very little chance he sits this season. in recent history i can not think of one guy who sat and didnt commit career suicide. so it is simple. he will either play this season or will be gone. all other scenarios are pointless.
