Everrett Brown called most impact rookie next season

Yeah if Martin works out, I can see this. With passing games tearing up the Panthers the way they do, this would be a good option, IMO. And with the rules shaded more towards passing offense, I think a team has to have 3 pretty capable (starting level) CBs.

I could definitely see taking the Giants approach, especially given that the new philosophy is going to absolutely hinge on pressure from the front four.

because catman said brown should play at RDE.

really, it doesn't matter what brown is most suited for. pep is going to be playing the right side...the side that comes natural to him and that he wanted to play at the whole time he's been here.

brown is going to play where he will be useful, whatever side that is.

he would be better at the right side but so would pep. that is where pep is most likely to be.

maycock's opinion doesn't matter. they aren't likely to move pep back to the left side to make way for brown.

Oh I see, Mike Mayock doesn't know what he's talking about either - okay I get it, you're a know it all.

There has to be a good reason why Mayock made a point out of specifying twice within a few seconds that Brown was a RIGHT defensive end.

We'll see what happens when the season starts... I'm gonna dig up this thread.

most impactful rookie is always relative to the shape of the team that drafts him. so Mark saying he is great is just as true as saying the Panther D-line is in pretty bad shape.

It's a combination of things not just a player evaluation.

I agree that the opportunity is there from the standpoint that there looks to be a real opportunity for a young and talented spark plug on the Panther D-line. This opportunity stems from the Potential Peppers shakeup, the fans dislike of Peppers because of that, and their willingness to accept rookie mistakes because of that. He also looks to be very talented and eager to learn.

Ability+Intelligence+Opportunity=most impactful rookie
