Does anyone know about Farsi? I remember a friend back in the states once told me that Farsi (not sure if I'm saying it correctly) speakers were high in demand, mostly for the oil companies in the middle east. But not a lot of folks wanted to go there because it's Dangerous apparently. He worked there because he has a military background and is a total bad ass with guns.

English is one on the most unnecessarily confusing languages to learn if you did not grow up learning it.

I know English, Spanish, German, Italian, Mandarin and French; Spanish is really the only secondary language that comes in handy honestly. I would definitely say Mandarin would be a great 3rd language to know. I don't get to use it often, but it will come in handy one day I hope.

I have a friend that knows Farsi and he makes a lot of money because of it. If you ever intend on going to Western Asian, then Farsi is the way to go.

Honestly though, computer languages are the way to go right now ;).

Like what C++? Java? I'm not too familiar with any. I did want to get an IT degree because I hear folks say it's in high demand. Don't know how true that may be though.

C# right now. You can make a right nice living writing business software and C# is the preferred language these days. JAVA and C++ haven't gone anywhere but to make any money with them you have to be either a demigod or willing to put in several years being the low man on the totem pole.

Australia is home to like 7 or 8 of the 10 deadliest snakes in the world, dozens of deadly spiders, crocodiles, & everything else. Not sure about that.

It's an internship for the company I work for. I started out as a machine operator, worked my ass off, & they saw I was intelligent & a hard worker & I got my foot in the door of their IT dept. My degree wasn't leading to any career opportunities so I made one for myself with hard work. It's pretty much just training & classes to learn the software & machinery we use.

Yeah, that would make it pretty difficult. Plus I've heard Russian isn't the easiest language to learn to begin with. I'm still trying to master english.

Ireland / no snakes and no spiders that will bite you...and it's never too hot

There is really no right answer to be honest. C# is indeed a great language to pick up, same with Perl. Ruby and Python are up there too. PHP is slightly dated but still widely used.

I recommend Ruby, but everyone has their own opinion on the subject.
