Mike Tolbert "the Missing Link" (Good Article On Panthers Website)

Recommended Posts

Anyone else think Tolbert could be the highest scoring FB in the NFL next year?

I would think so, it doesn't take all that much. There were only 6 who scored at all last season.Kuhn might be his biggest competition .

I think Hoover has been sorely missed these last couple of years. He really helped open up the run game with him leading the way, but this Tolbert kid is a dream. He can catch, nose for the endzone, he is a bruiser, plenty of speed AND he wants to be here. If we can find a legit #2 reciever, the Panthers may have the #1 offense in the NFL this year. They are scary on paper.

haha its all good, no offense taken i never said that coastal's team as a whole was good : P

but out of curiosity, how many LU players are in the NFL and play for the panthers? i can at least be excited that players from my college team are now on my pro team lol

i'm thinking that when rivera said he wanted someone like sproles he wasn't talking about a scatback necessarily, but a wildcard player that could play in a lot of different capacity and who will have to always be watched and accounted for even when he isn't the focus of a play because of how dangerous he is with the ball...someone like tolbert. someone who brings another dimension or two to the game.

tolbert being listed as a FB is going to have him seeing the field a lot more than any 3rd RB. we should see plenty of packages with him williams and stewart on the field together.

Not much better than one of your own getting to play for the home team. I'm a MSU homer, so I have had a few through the years. I can see how you could be proud of having 2 at the same time. Especially from such a small school.

Rotoworld just came out with this little gem.

Mike Tolbert confirmed that he is focusing on "a lot of fullback stuff" at Panthers offseason practices.

Tolbert doesn't sound like a player anticipating much of a carrying and catching workload, barring injury to DeAngelo Williams or Jonathan Stewart. "You never know what's going to happen," Tolbert said. "Guys get hurt every day –- Stew might get hurt or I might get hurt or DeAngelo. I'm not wishing that on anybody, but it's always better to have three than two or four than three."

Wonder where they got that from lol.
