Roger Goodell Wants Wi-Fi In Every Stadium.

Recommended Posts

Was watching NFLN. Goodell was on, conference.

He was talking about how in a conversation with the CEO of Nike, he mentioned to him that NBA players have more padding from the waist down and blah blah blah, safety this, and so on.

Then they moved on to some talks about how they have a plan to have Wi-Fi available for all 31 stadiums so the fans can stay connected. Fantasy football, redzone, etc.

They asked him how this would be thought out, how it would be paid for. He said there are some partners he would like to get, so they can help this vision go forth.

What I was thinking, would this fall to the PSL owners? They there be a price hike? All this is fairly new and I'm not sure of the schematics of it. But he didn't really address who would pay for it. I'm not a PSL owner, aspiring to be one day, but I'd be kinda peeved that the bill would fall on my lap.

Any folks with insight on this type of deals?

Probably would be in a partnership with a local internet provider. "Official WiFi provider of the Carolina Panthers" type deal.

It would probably entail putting routers at various points throughout the stadium. The trick would be to not provide free WIFi for the whole neighborhood. You would need to have either 1 huge wireless router, or multiple routers throughout the stadium.

They're going to make beer 10$ a bottle....

The last time I went to BoA, I paid $6 for a bottle. I nursed the hell out of that beer. Then I got thirsty again, bought another one. I realized I could have bought a 12 pack of beer for the two freaking bottles I just slowing sipped. Never again man. Next time I go, I'm going in drunk to the game.

They could turn the router off except for Sundays..and have a new password for every game. The password can be printed on tickets/etickets..or they could list the new password every Sunday through screens located throughout the facility. Wouldn't be that hard to do and would cater to individuals at the game.

I always drink before I go, I was drinking Jack at 10:00 am at the ATL game last season, but I always end up buying a couple before its all said and done.

No idea why anyone would need this. First of all, who doesn't have 3G or 4G these days. Secondly, you should be too busy drinking and watching the damn game to Tweet your witty insights to your 12 followers.
