Opened with Cam's highlights, stats, records, & awards. The three things they talked about were his lack of 4th quarter efficiency, adapting to defenses, & the "sophomore slump".

Showed a chart displaying his efficiency by quarter. He was at the top of the league in the first, good in the 2nd/3rd, & 23rd in the 4th quarter. They said to take the next step at becoming a great qb he must lead his team in the 4th quarter. Said his struggles in the 4th last year came from being a rookie & that in the 4th you don't have a running game & it's all on him to stay poised & lead his team passing.

Next they talked about the sophomore slump. Showed Rivera's statement from the Charlotte Observer where Rivera basically said if anyone can overcome the slump it would be Newton & that he continues to improve & is focused on winning more games. Said they don't talk about a slump & stay focused on football.

Herm Edwards talked about defenses now having a full offseason & tape on Newton to prepare & that some of the things he did last year won't work. Said Cam has to be prepared to adjust to new looks & schemes from teams. Also mentioned he saw Cam at the preakness & talked with him about the same topic. Edwards told Newton not to get caught up in stats because now it's about winning. Told Newton if he wants to take the next step to focus on his team winning more games & forget about stats. He said you can't say, "I had 35td last year I'm gonna get 50td this year." because defenses will adjust & it's gonna be harder.

Polian said the slump exists because coaches spend months preparing for what rookie qbs did the previous year & how to stop it. Said the ones who avoid it are the ones who can adapt to new defenses. Said it will be hard but Newton can do it.

They all praised Carolina for Tolbert signing & said it adds a dynamic weapon to their offense. Bill Polian absolutely slobbed all over Smitty's knob when they were talking about Cam having weapons. Said they had a bunch of unknowns at wr & were small at wr but that 89 was as good as it gets. Polian said you cannot cover him man to man & the Tolbert signing, in addition to the other backs & Cam's running ability, makes it even harder. Said you can't leave him one on one & they have too many weapons to double him. Said covering him with 1.5 defenders will never work & Smitty will beat it all day. Said he is one of the best, goes up to get the ball, & gives Cam a target that cannot be covered. Polian said Smitty was an all time great & everyone else agreed.

Then they cut to Goodell who rambled about a bunch of worthless poo.

Olsen is a really good interview locally, really laid back and funny. Have you gone to wfnz.com? He comes on quite a bit in the afternoon EST, prolly two or three times a month. Lots of Panther talk on WFNZ, but you gotta put up with the tards. Olsen may be the break-out player on offense this year with him not splitting time with Shock. TE from the U? Can't loose bra. :)
