Sad But True...

bobcats moving in right direction with dropping bad contracts and getting picks to try and find a superstar, only way good teams are built, durant, bron (cleveland) way. it isnt easy for drafting NBA prospects id say close to the hardest to evaluate talent. but we just gotta hit on a superstar type and we have alot of pieces and money to fill in the rest, just gotta get a little lucky...

and i actually do think the panthers will become a america love them or hate them team solely because of Cam, he is just that kind of guy, that good and will take the team to playoffs yr in and yr out.

The only way the soon to be Hornets will be able to build a winner is to build through the draft. I don't think Kemba is going to be anything more than a role player and the pick probably could have been better spent elsewhere, but I can't blame Jordan for picking him. He had to.

yeah before the draft i thought of kemba as a jason terry 6th man type and that hasnt really changed. the way i look at it is you need all those players to make a team so he is just a peice. i like biz and he actually played beter than expected for me. i knew he was limited and had potential and he showed alot of promise for a 19yr old plus the maturity to work on his game. he was a great pick.

he is a good shooter, he had to carry way the team way more than any rookie ever should. who else was supposed to score on the team? he rarely had open shots and if he did it was because he is the only player on the team who can create for himself. when he was open he knocked down most of his 3's. he will be a great bench guy like terry or louis williams and come in with instant offense.

Kemba is NOT a franchise player.....he is a downgrade to DJ. And Bismack is VERY limited offensively.

Not sure that either are truly going to be dominant players. Need another season to see what we have with Bismack. Neither are BUSTS, but neither are top players so far.

I would like to hear of some players you would have RATHER picked other than Kemba. He averaged 12/4/3 on the worst team in NBA history. He played with energy and brought a better tempo to the offense. The only 2 I would accept as reasonable responses would possibly be Faried or Leonard. Faried will forever be a great role player and Leonard may develop into something more than that on the BEST team in the NBA. But for the pick we had, those 2 might have been reaches at the time, and Kemba seemed to have the best shot at becoming a franchise player. However, I do find it strange that we didn't move DJ after drafting another pg. I felt we could have gotten something valuable for that.

Kemba is not a franchise player and I don't think he ever will be.

That is why many pundits look at the Charlotte situation as much easier to work with than, for instance, the Washington Wizards, who have their franchise PG in John Wall who has been underperforming of late.

The Bobcats haven't been in a position to draft a "franchise" player since 04 (Okafor, #2) and 06 (Morrison, #3.) So, instead of picking in the low top ten / teens every year to get role players like Augustin, they tanked for another shot at a franchise caliber player.

If they don't get the #1 pick, I worry about what MJ and Co. will do to mess this up.

No doubt man if he Bobcats miss out on Davis this team could be in serious, serious trouble. They have nothing to build around and if they end up with Thomas Robinson I expect them to be drafting around 1 or 2 again next season.

I've been striving to not post in the racism forum anymore, but I couldn't help but chime in on this.

Kemba is going to be a great player, he may eventually even be a star in the league. There isn't anyone in the world who can't improve their shot or jumpshot. On top of that, he's a competitor and has that determined swagger that make the best players just that, the best players.

He played on the worst team at the position which happened to be our best player. I believe Silas' "rotations" were purposely jacked up in order to get the worst out of the team, by order of the front office. So, one night, Kemba may play the whole game, the next night he might play 15 minutes. It's hard for anyone to get a rhythm playing like that. And if your shot is already not a strong point, when you get in the game, it's hard to feel comfortable in shooting because if you miss, you can't have that "I'll make the next one" mentality because you might not be in for the next one.

Now, he averaged 12 ppg, 3 rpg, and 4 apg as a rookie. He also had a triple-double this season which is no easy feat. He also (without looking) shot as well as, if not better than the incredibly awesome BULLDOG, known as Ray Felton - yet, everyone loved that guy.

Go down the list and look at all the successful PGs who came in with questions about their shooting - Jason Kidd, Allen Iverson (more of a SG/scoring G), Chris Paul, Russell Westbrook (same as AI), etc.

I have every bit of confidence that once we have the new coaching staff in place and some sort of semblance of structure and direction for next year that Kemba will be a much improved shooter and will be an excellent player for us - possibly THE franchise player.

And this isn't a knock on Silas, I love him, I just think he was told to go out there and make it a clusterf*ck this season for obvious reasons.
