Sports Blog By Panther Fan...

Recommended Posts

That makes perfect sense if this were PFFL's blog. How did you figure that out Marguide?? I kept thinking as I read it that this was clearly a Newton hater and a pretty poor writer, both hallmarks of PFFL's posts. Well they went for the not your typical sports blog and they surely got it. I am sorry I wasted the time it took to read it.... It was clearly a piece of crap not even worthy of a Saints** fan.

Cam is just a lightening rod.

There is no inbetween on this kid.

There is no doubt he is a great athelete.

There is no doubt based on statistics that he had an incredible rookie season.

The bench marks for success this year will be much much higher. Can he avoid turn-overs? Can he keep his chin up when things are difficult? Can he lead this team on a game winning drive in the 4th quarter against quality competition.

That's how great QBs are judged. I hope he can.

Conversely, the defense for once needs to make a stop when it needs to and the special teams need to be special (stop someone, make the tough punt, for the love of God, Mare make a meaningful field goal).

Point being yes, there are other parts but with the QB position they are forgotten.ccc

For p55, all I had to do was read about 1 paragraph and I knew it was him.

Unfortunately, his "logic" and writing style is burned into my memory.

Guess he dropped his The Golden Calf of Bristol love when he was traded, and went back to his 1st beau, Andy Dalton.

this is torture. i have to commend any of you who made it through that shitburger.

seriously i'll just pick a random sentence and we'll talk about how it's wrong:

Newton needs to take a lesson from fellow NFC South quarterback Josh Freeman. Freeman had comparable rookie season and at the end of the season there was talk about him being a star. In his sophomore season he did not produce.

yeah except freeman's rookie season was horrible and what he's actually thinking of is his sophomore campaign where the bucs went 10-6 and missed the playoffs by a hair.

i'm not necessarily sure that this is PFFL on second thought. no mention of YPP, no dr. phil quality psychoanalysis, and no The Golden Calf of Bristol references or his various other hallmarks. what got lost in his awful posting here was that he also fancies himself a "writer" and while it's true that he tried to get people to read terrible articles he wrote and post on some forum he created that i assume still has tumbleweeds rolling across it, that's not what was posted here iirc.

i can't keep my eyes off this article. it's just a hypnotically awful piece of work. trying to make sense of it is like peeling a befouled onion where every subsequent layer unleashes a water balloon full of piss at your face.

I don't think it is fair to pad your stats when your team is down 15 points with 3 minutes to go in the 4th quarter (GB game). While his stats were impressive, the manner that he picked up the stats were not as impressive. (This is impressive).

so what were we supposed to do down two scores late-kneel it out? or maybe just punt it away so cam wouldn't be "padding his stats" desperately bombing it downfield trying to put up points? what a tool.

I use the term FAN loosely, because after reading this I sincerely have my doubts. Even if he did try to soften that by saying he's a PSL owner and all that.

this person is not a PSL holder. his daddy bought PSLs back when he was a five year old playing with dinosaur toys so he goes to the games.

I'm still convinced it is one of his vanity blogs. He doesn't talk about YPP anymore because by the end of the season, the data didn't fit his argument. The Golden Calf of Bristol got traded, so he is soiled now. It's better to talk about Dalton.

Whoever it is, it is apparent they watch a different game than the rest of us.

LOL, totally missed that. Which makes it even worse.. It's mind numbing for sure though. I know I kept thinking to myself as I read this, "Is this guy for real?".

I just thought of a lot of posters in the huddle when I read this blog. There's a lot of people that think this way. It's really a sad way of looking at things. It's pessimistic and debbie downer-ish. One thing is to criticize but to nit pick every little thing? Good god man..

also he breaks out the whole "i don't know about you guys but i want to win football games and i'm not content to sit around and watch losing teams so long as the quarterback looks pretty doing it and i'm just so concerned that panthers fans don't feel like me and the organization is heading in the wrong direction because they value style over substance and blah blah" hand-wringing which is a hot pile of bullshit.

this kind of argument stands in interesting contrast to the jake delhomme/john fox fetishism a lot of the PFFL-type posters cling to. those two lost a ton of football games after 2005 and looked like total poo doing it a lot of the time so i guess it's a double-negative that becomes a positive somehow. of course, this is a massively simplistic argument that doesn't tell the whole story, but i'd challenge anyone to categorize this blog post as anything but precisely that anyway.

this could be true too. i mean creating a bunch of different usernames under which to spout bullshit is hardly something strange when it comes to PFFL.

If the writer could have backed up his points with long paragraphs about yards per point, I would be in favor of us cutting Cam or at least trading him for Matt Moore. But since he didn't, I guess I'll resign myself to being satisfied with our record breaking, potentially game changing quarterback.
