I like Shirley, but there is no way they will cut Fua/McClain after one year. I don't think they get rid of Edwards or Neblett either, so it is down to Kearse/Shirley. Coaching staff really seems to like Kearse.

I think if they dont believe in Clausen they should cut him and upgrade the position.That would cut down on 1/3 of the useless threads on this forum

Clausen will have very little trade value. Teams know who is on our roster. They know If we keep Clausen someone good is going to get cut. If we are offering him up they know our plan is to keep someone we truly don't want to cut. They will just sit back and wait us out. We will cut him and someone will pick him up without having to give up anything.

The only scenario I could see someone actually giving up a pick would be someone like Charlie Weis. Someone who believes he has potential and doesn't want to risk another team getting him.

I kind of seriously doubt that.

My take we will keep 6 DTs and only 2 QBs.

I like Manno as a darkhorse too, especially if we get rid of Clausen. We need good special teams players.

I don't think Clausen will get traded; more likely to get released. I would like to see us roll with Newton and Anderson and keep a player at another position like DT, LB, FB/TE/HB, WR.

Clausen: I don't like Clausen but I wouldn't want to just cut him either. I think and I use the term lightly, that he still has some trade value, whatever that may be. Now if his trade value is equal to what we would get a compensatory pick (if we'd get one at all), then I'd cut him.

Armanti: When we drafted Adams, Armanti became obsolete.

Vaughan: RB competition is going to be interesting. Rivera has said that he wants a scat back.

All of the other positions are anybody's guess right now. But I'm impressed with Rivera bringing in competition at so many different positions.

2nd round QB and later who have epically sucked dont have trade value. I hope Rivera ends the habit of duds taking up roster spaces for years.

I think he joined before the new post count rule was implemented. Besides, this thread isn't trolling at all. It's a decent one at that.

Jimmy Clausen - will be cut if we dont want to get rid of someone else with more potential

Armanti Edwards - will need to prove he can be a reliable WR which most likely won't happen. He is about as good as gone.

Ben Hartsock - team needs to decide if he's worth keeping as a pure blocker

Jason Shirley - only way he makes it is if he beats out Kearse since we are not carrying 6 DTs. The team is really high on Kearse.

Jason Phillips - good special teamer, can also play MLB or OLB if need be. Will have to prove his ST play is worth keeping

Josh Vaughan - will have to prove that he is worth keeping around to give Williams and Stewart a breather

Bruce Campbell - Will have to beat out Ziemba and/or Garry Williams in order to justify staying on the team. Will be a hard task as Ziemba is only in his second year, which was considered a huge steal at the time, and the coaching staff was high on Williams last season.

Two players that you shouldn't be surprised if they aren't playing with us next season:

Captain Munnerlyn: Really is a poor starting CB, good for only nickel and dime packages. However, every other corner we have on the team is good at that. Might be vaulable to keep as a backup PR though.

Sherrod Martin: Played horrible last season which is why we brought in 2 new free agents. If DJ Campbell can show something in camp and preseason, we may just decide to move on from him.
