The Tide Is Clearly Turning Against Goodell

Recommended Posts

please ban this fool

NFL already said they had one of the top former prosecutors in the nation review the evidence

result? overwhelming evidence against suspended players

you truly are ignorant if you think Vilma will take down the NFL

I have a law degree .. trust me on this

But you dont understand. The great state of Louisiana has only been following pro football for like 6 years. This cant end so soon. And the courts there are way betterly doned than in the rest of the US.

That's probably true, but in Whitlock's defense, he actually writes things down. Badly, but he writes them down which takes some level of effort. I assume Bayless spends 2 hours yelling at whatever they put across from him (Journalist, athlete, pineapple, box turtle, etc) and then goes home to scrawl on his walls with feces and make love to his mother's corpse. Just a guess, that statement is not backed up with any factual evidence . . . yet.

Hey... keep that on the DL. I'm his agent, I get 10% of this. In all seriousness I have seen Bayless in an office setting, his statements are scripted, that doesn't mean they are thought out though. It's like saying someone is smart because they know a bunch of languages... all it really means is you can be an idiot and more people can understand you. I also think Bayless is well aware of the persona he puts on and it's mostly an act because he knows he can make money doing it. You can occasionally see hints of this on first take.

Back to the topic at hand, what exactly does Vilma hope to gain from this lawsuit anyway? I doubt a court can lift his suspension, and even if they did everyone in the NFL still knows he's a scumbag. Money? Who cares, wouldn't effect either Goodell or Vilma, both have plenty of it. Like I stated in another thread about this, there's no way Goodell gets his position taken away from him, and if it is, he'd probably be reinstated in the next vote between owners and the NFLPA. A public statement from Goodell saying "Oh, so Vilma didn't post 10k to take Brett Favre out of a game, but he's still a dirtbag who participated and stood pat while an illegal career threatening bounty system took place and is equally at fault as Joe Vitt, Loomis, and Payton. So yeah... sorry I lied."?

Why would you be surprised that the NFL has lied already throughout this process

The NFL has said and many people on this board would swear that Hargrove's words acknowledge the existence of a bounty program and show that Hargrove initially lied to NFL investigators about it. Hargrove's statement does not say that he lied to anyone, nor does it state that he or any other Saints** participated in a bounty program

and here is what is more troubling. The fact that if the exact same process was happening to Jon Beason you would be up and arms yet you don't have enough character to admit it. How can the following not bother you???

"The fact that we haven't received a single piece of evidence from the commissioner not only makes the whole process suspect but made it important that we ask the commissioner as specifically as we possibly could what we think we should be able to see in order to even the playing field and in order to give Jonathan a fair hearing," Ginsberg said. "And I must say that the commissioner still hasn't responded to this most recent request. This is not the first time we have asked them for the evidence."

Ginsberg said the reason he believes Goodell hasn't obliged the request is because the evidence isn't as damning as the NFL has made it out to be.

"What the commissioner has said publicly, the accusations and allegations against Jonathan are not true," Ginsberg said. "They are simply not accurate.

"Add to that the fact, as we have seen in the press the last few days that the commissioner's office and the commissioner's outside counsel have discernibly misrepresented even the information that the commissioner has gathered. When you put that in the context of the commissioner's high-priced outside counsel saying that when we asked for evidence and when we wanted to know what we were answering to - and this is (outside counsel Mary Jo White) quote 'a Red herring,' it really puts into perspective the kangaroo court that Jonathan and the others have been subjected to.

Keep posting random statements that you and your Saints* buddies keep scrounging up while ignoring to respond directly to any of our legitimate posts regarding your original statements, because thats how forums are supposed to roll rofl.

Your like the husband who keeps hanging out with a strange woman and changes the subject or yells at the wife for one of her faults every time the wife asks about the other girl.

little off topic, but i cant stand defense lawyers. they have a special place in hell for all i care.

yeah I too wish for a world where the prosecution always wins because nobody will defend scumbags on trial because if you're on trial you're a scumbag and nobody should defend you and if they do they hate america and babies and vote for demoncRATS.

Checks and balances?

This isn't a court of law it's a business that is punishing employees for breaking company policy after they were already told to put an end to it.

Is it.goodells fault that this business is under comstant watch by millions, and Vilma looks like the idiot he is, for being involved?

And our resident Saints** fan that is here for every bounty thread, has got the be the dumbest SOB I've ever have read on any message board.

Nah brah. If our front office, coaches, and players screwed up badly enough, after having been warned, that it resulted in the loss of draft picks and suspensions of said players, we would probably be mad at the front office, the coaches, and the players (which is probably what a majority of Saints* fans are doing). The majority of people here wouldn't go on other teams message board and try to rally support against the guy who brought the hammer down on said stupidity. That would just be dumb, a waste of time, and a demonstration of completely missing the point.
