Five Panthers No One Is Talking About

Recommended Posts

Centers in general are pretty undervalued. Kalil keeps making the pro bowl so somebody is paying notice of his duties.

After last season though, our most under rated player was easily Gamble. Dude played like everything he was touted to be coming out of college, a complete shut down coverage CB with the height and jumping ability to break up jump balls to big receivers. Damn foxy wasting his talent by forcing him to play zone every down...

Seriously though, when did a number 1 receiver eat us up last season? The guy shut down everyone he was matched up with.

I can't wait to see Armanti finally throw a td pass in an NFL game

If Armanti is on our roster when the games start, I will be pissed. He has been rendered useless by the Joe Adams pick. I know drafting a guy who played receiver and punt returner in college to be a receiver and punt returner in the pro's is a crazy idea, but I think it could work.

really stupid statement. you are acting like it is his fault they gave up the farm and took him too early. Again, really stupid.

You don't know that. That is not eve a good guess. Quick. Which player did Armanti render useless mere weeks after he was drafted?

Hopefully you are right. But considering your other two remarks I would have to say you just got lucky with that smart ass remark. And I/m not an App or Armanti fan. I think I have started pulling for him to do well because so many knuckleheads around here are making such ignorant statements about him.

Blah blah blah.

I don't care who's fault it is. Don't let the door hit you in the ass Armanti.

You can pull for him all you want but the dude sucks, accept it and move on. He can't break tackles, he doesn't make people miss, and he is not nfl fast.

@carolinarolls

I don't know the guy, I could care less about him as a person. I'm sure he is a great dude. It's the valuable roster spot that I am thinking about. If you can't produce more than a 5 yd punt return average you are wasting a roster spot. He will not beat out any of our other receivers for playing time, so why keep him around. They could stash him on the practice squad and no team would try to pick him up.

a roster spot has you that pissed. He costs practically nothing and has obviously earned a spot for two years. It has also been stated by the staff that this is the year he has to produce. Why do you hope a guy with two years on the team is gone instead of improved and look forward to a rookie that has proved far less on the field than the current player has? As a fan don't you want the best guy no matter who he is and embrace that the team is properly pushing him with competition?

This is not like when Fox stuck with Jake year after year. This kid is developing and if he was not showing strides, would have been cut by now. It sounds personal to me dude but whatever.

Marty wouldn't cut him last year after trading up to take him the year before. Roster spots are valuable as hell on a 53 man roster. Wasting one on a guy who is a developmental project is just bad business. Joe Adams played the position we are trying to develop Armanti to play. Cut bait and move on.

The Marty no cut to save face theory is just that, a theory.

Roster spots are valuable, no question there. That said its contradictory to say they are so valuable yet he is not when we have a tidal wave of cuts in camp and our PS gets raided for a handful of guys we try to stash every year, yet he remains.

Apparently what you have seen on a handful of returns which to me were night and day different from year 1 to year 2 for AE is much more conclusive in your eyes than it is to the entire staff. Saving face is bad business, much worse than developing a player. So again if your contention is that he is only there, wasting a roster spot, for Hurney to save face, Marty is the guy to blame and not Armanti. Either way, where we took him or why he is still here, its on Marty and not Armanti. The part Armanti is responsible for is showing enough improvement to validate his roster spot. Since he is still there one has to think he is doing his part. If you don't agree you can only blame Marty, not Armanti.

It's pretty simple.
