Comparing Lesean Mccoy's Contract To D-Will's

He's not better, not by a long shot. He's a back that doesn't split carries, so his numbers are going to be comparable. He's really good, but if their situations were reversed I think Deangelo would have produced a little better. That being said, McCoy deserves a slightly bigger contract than Deangelo because he's a lone back and he's younger.

I wouldn't say a long shot, its really close though that's for sure.

Heh I thought about editing that part after I posted it. I didn't mean McCoy is way below Deangelo, I just mean McCoy isn't better. I'd put McCoy very close to Deangelo, but like I said, the way I look at it if Deangelo was in Philly in the situation he's in he'd put up better numbers I think. McCoy would be sharing carries here and would have comparable seasons to Deangelo's the past couple years (maybe a little more considering Deangelo missed a little time with injuries).

lol D-will is at his prime, despite not having a 1,000 yard season the past TWO seasons.

DeAngelo averaged 5.4ypc last season compared to LeSean's 4.8ypc. Inflated season stats are for baseball.

Another we overpaid so and so contract.

Not your money.

If you don't like it, buy your own team and run it how you like.

Not my money? That's funny cause the Carolina Panthers sure do cash those checks I give them.

So 29 is the new 60? DeAngelo is in the prime of his NFL career & at a peak age for a man's physical strength. It's not the NFL of the 90's where the RB is washed up by his 30th birthday. DeAngelo has split carries with Stewart & will prove to be worth his contract. It's a different situation from a Marshall Faulk or Eddie George. DeAngelo hasn't endured the same work load.

For a NFL RB.....yeah, 29 pretty much means the end is near

He was hurt and placed on IR in 2010 and would have had 1000+ yards last season had he not split carries. The man has put up great numbers almost his entire career and Lesean had ONE great season...who earned the big payday???Soooo what's the deal ol spinster? Call up a gigalo and get'em to knock the dust off that old axe wound, cuz u seem a lil cranky.

again, the williams and johnson contracts were about jerry richardson showing, amidst heavy cba criticism, that he will open the bank for players who perform. those contracts shut up every iota of player grumblings and uprising of discontentedness about the front office. it also sent a message to future draft picks/free agents that if you play your ass off in carolina the ownership will pay you.

williams' numbers were probably more than he was worth, but you can't put a price tag on making a statement like that.

You guys don't realize how talented DeAngelo is. He will join Jim Brown next season as the only other RB in NFL history to avg 5ypc for his career with a minimum of 1000 carries.

And no CRA, it isn't pretty much the end. Guys like Marshall Faulk were washed up because they had 2000-3000 carries, not because of their age. DeAngelo doesn't have 1/2 as many carries as the players you are comparing him to.
