What If The Panthers Had Been The Team The Nfl Is Coming Down On For Bounties?

If it was us it wouldn't be a big deal because we are small market team. Also we haven't had the recent success the Saints** have had. I would still support the team, because you always change the gm and coaching staff. I wouldn't condone the bounties at all tho.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHA this is the funniest thread in the history of message boards. You have a team that went to the Super Bowl full of juiced up players, a "favorite" player that not once but twice has knocked out teammates with cheap shots and a history of DUI's and arrest and you think the Saints* are somehow dirty? Not to mention that there is not one shred of evidence that the Saints* ever purposely hurt anyone or had a real bounty on any player. You have a defensive coordinator that liked to run his mouth and it cost him but you want the ownership to clean house for what? Having players that help in the community probably more than any other NFL team? For bringing a city together? For being a world champion? I can promise you that if the Panthers had ever won a Super Bowl and had players committed to Charlotte the way the Saints* players have been to New Orleans and all this came out against them not only would you be screaming at the hypocrisy but you would demand to see evidence and you would defend everyone that has been unfairly judged. But I guess until you have a team that is a true champion you won't know how to react.

Was wondering how long til this idiot showed up. No one defended Rae Carruth. Judging off of yours and many Saints* fans reactions, if he had been on your team you would have defended him. No one defended Smitty's actions. Smitty manned up, admitted his mistakes and moved on. Punching a guy in anger in the heat of the moment isn't nearly as bad as coordinated plans to injure opposing players. I can't tell by your elementary school writing skills, but it seems you're saying Smitty has a history of DUIs and arrests [sic] which is simply untrue. I would completely and utterly condemn the actions of the Saints* if they had been performed by my team. "Bringing a city together" and "being a world champion" wouldn't make those criminal actions forgivable.

Your fake laughter can't hide your pain....maybe Payton can share some of his stolen Vicodin to help ease the pain. That is if he isn't to busy lying to the NFL and associating himself with criminals.

The Carolina Panthers organization has always been on the foundation of Character. I would hope that our character, as a team, would not allow this to happen. I know that football is a violent sport, but football players aren't just going out to play a game for our amusement...those guys are going to work, like you and I...they just get paid a lot more.

This is where it's valuable to distinguish between supporting the team as a whole and supporting individuals within the system.

Breaking it down according to what happened with the Saints*...

- Whomever the mastermind was (ala gregg Williams for the Saints*) would need to be sent packing for good

- Assuming he wasn't the mastermind, the Head Coach would merit a lengthy suspension (same as happened to Payton)

- And last, if there were players involved in the administration of the program, they'd merit a fine or suspension as well

Basically, the NFL is handling this the right way. And if it were us, it'd be no different.

Would I still support the team? Absolutely, but I'd want the individuals who committed the offense to pay the penalty.
