Vilma Suing Goodell

What is so funny about all of these responses is that no one mentions the obvious. Do you really think Vilma would sue the commissioner of the NFL if he didn't believe what he has said all along? He never participated, paid, or intended to hurt anyone. There is no proof and Goodell knows it. You can't make public statements about people that defame their character when you don't have proof and this is exactly what Goodell has done. This will be the end of him!

That's it resort again to name calling when you can't argue your point. Where is the proof that Vilma did any of this? First Goodell says he has 50,000 pages 50,000!!! Ok, right, then he says Hargrove verified it and Hargrove's statement proved that was a lie. RG is busted on this one. He has no proof and thought he could get away with it. I am telling you he is going down and the Saints*** will be vindicated. My only regret is that he probably won't be around to hand the Saints*** the Lombardi in New Orleans.

Dream on all you want to but trust me on this one. Goodell has nothing but hear say evidence from unreliable sources and he jumped the gun and not only will Vilma be vindicated but I would not be surprised to see Payton, Loomis and other have their suspensions lifted.

I really love ur name. Proves that you didn't give a poo about the Saints** until they won their first superbowl. Just another fair weather fan that doesn't realize the Saints** were the laughing stock of the NFL for 40 years.

Onto the topic, even if Goodell doesn't have evidence that Vilma put up 10k to take opposing players out of games (which I'm pretty sure he does), his ruling on suspending Vilma and the fines will stand. Vilma still knowingly took part in a violent bounty program designed to physically injure other human beings, due to these humans being athletes as well, the physically injuries directly correlate to financial loss. Even if the court rules that their is no evidence of Vilma posting lump sums of money for specific targets, his participation in the program IS a fact (with plenty of evidence to support as well). This means that Vilma has been rightfully defamed even if one specific detail is incorrect.

The fact you think something like this would rid the NFL of Goodell proves how incredibly retarded you are. Since Goodell's induction as commissioner the NFL has had exponential financial growth. Sure, it's become a pussy league, the rules are completely different and quality defensive/special teams play isn't nearly as rewarding as it once was but the audience has become much, much larger. Fantasy football, madden, high-scoring games and the ability to quickly research anything you could ever want to know about the league via the internet has been furiously embraced by the NFL and allows people of any age, location, race or gender to access it and enjoy it their own way. As much as you or I may miss hard nosed old fashioned football, the NFL is first and foremost a business in entertainment, it just so happens to include football.

In the end, Goodell appeals to both players and owners. He generates revenue for both parties and he helps lengthen careers. Even if this ENTIRE bounty scandal turned out to be a sham and completely made up out of thin air by Goodell, guess what, he's still going to be around.

Lol!

"There's nothing to this!"

"Saints* will get a slap on the wrist!"

"Brees is gonna give us a hometown discount & get signed soon!"

"Payton's gonna appeal & get right back on the sidelines!"

Given your track record for predictions, something so Fugged up is gonna come out that the Saints* will be in LA by 2014.

Oh wow, a handful of players don't like him, that must mean no players like what he does. Why would anyone find this article surprising or interesting when there have been plenty of players vocally against Goodell (James Harrison, the one in particular who comes to mind)? Most of the players who have it against Goodell play defense and particularly known for dirty play around the league (although as a Saints* fan, you probably don't know what entails dirty play). The overall vast majority of players kind of enjoy their career and the money they make; Goodell's goal has been to extend those careers and has brought in financial growth (which in turn creates a higher salary cap, thus leading to bigger contracts being offered to players). Overall, most players like what he's trying to do, hence why he was voted to be reinstated by the Players Association.

Look I personally don't like Goodell, I don't like the recent rule changes involving hits on QBs and WRs and special teams rules, I also don't like the absurd amount of commercial time on Sundays. I'm not willing to boycott the NFL over any of this, and if you want Goodell out, thats the only way he's going to leave. As long as the NFL continues to grow in popularity while player careers extend, he's here to stay.

Send me the links for all those players supporting Goodell in his punishment of Vilma. You would think that all of the players that the Saints* had so called "bountys" on would come forward and say what a terrible thing it is that Vilma did and he should be suspended. They don't do this because they know it is not true and to what ever level of discussion that did take place in regards to hitting players hard or similar to what the Giants players said about trying to hit the guy in the head that had prior concussions, all teams do this and if Vilma is suspended then multitude of players should be suspended. They are behind JV because they know he is right and he has the courage to stand up to the guy that no one else has stood up to before.

Did a taints fan just use an asterisk when typing out the Saints****?

No, you see the way this works is you quote what someone else says and then you type your statement. If someone that you quote types something when you quote them it shows what they typed, you don't actually type that out.

Hope that helps you understand how the process works going forward. If you need additional info or tips let me know and I will be glad to help you out.

Thanks

First off don't demand anything from me or anyone else on this board. You're nothing but a petty troll. You come here and consistently spit garbage while we laugh at you, with good reason might I add. You obviously didn't learn to read well in whatever swamp you were raised in because you're comprehension skills are equivalent to most 6th graders I've met.

Why does it matter if players support this one specific instance of a punishment? The fact still stands that the players are in a Union, and collectively agree that Roger Goodell is good for them, their careers and the league. Even if Vilma didn't post a lump sum of money to target specific players (I'd be willing to bet he did) he is the MLB of the defense running a bounty program, that was not only against the rules and discovered, but later covered up with lies to investigators and the commissioner himself. As a MLB, he is the quarterback of the defense, he is the vocal leader and acts as the coach on the field. This alone makes him just as accountable as Sean Payton, Mickey Loomis and Joe Vitt. He knew about what was going on, he didn't do anything about it and just rolled along with it, thus he is going to be held accountable.

I don't know why you are comparing the Giants to the Saints* here. First off, there was no financial reward for what the Giants were doing. Second, what the Giants were doing was perfectly legal. Anyone playing post concussion is playing a very risky game, targeted or not. The Giants hit that player, and they hit him hard. You didn't see them leading with their helmet directly into his however. You didn't see the Giants trying to twist ankles after a play went out of bounds, trying to pin ankles in piles, tabletopping quarterbacks, intentionally dropping shoulders into player's knees, or ridiculous late hits and blocks. Laying players out with hard hits that may shake things around upstairs is still a part of football and is perfectly fine.

Even with your comparison, what makes you think the Giants are a clean team or part of the majority? They were the ones who got in trouble earlier for faking injuries. As the Saints* proved, just because you win a superbowl, doesn't mean you did it in a fair manner. The Steelers are notoriously dirty on both sides of the ball, and guess what, they've been getting punished consistently. Refs pay much more attention to what they are doing on the field, they are constantly getting fined for what they do. Yes the Saints* aren't the only team who play somewhat dirty, but guess what, the Saints* got caught, then lied, then got caught again, just like the Patriots weren't the only team video taping signals from unauthorized areas of stadiums. Grow a pair and deal with your team's punishment. Btw, Vilma is only going to make things worse.

Should have known you lacked mental capacity to follow what I was saying. I took your advice and quoted you to make it easier for you to follow along. You used an asterisk. You know they're fuged.
