Vilma Suing Goodell

The whole "righteously angry victim" defense is a very popular tactic these days.

Of course, it's not especially effective when the supposed "victimizer" can actually back up their charges.

My guess: Vilma probably has plenty of enablers telling him he can win this. No great shock. Most of the goofballs who humiliate themselves on American Idol have people telling them they can sing. And Vilma's got a whole state full of delusional people cheering him on.

lol i can see the hearing now

judge: "defense, please proceed."

vilma's lawyer: "we now call down our star witness."

judge: "proceed."

*dramatic pause*

vilma's layer: "........seaaaaannn paytonnnnnn!"

judge: "sean payton is testifying against your client. he's already been sworn in. sean payton, please come forward."

goodell: "lololololololololololol"

Dream on all you want to but trust me on this one. Goodell has nothing but hear say evidence from unreliable sources and he jumped the gun and not only will Vilma be vindicated but I would not be surprised to see Payton, Loomis and other have their suspensions lifted.

Statements by other players that were in the team meetings is not hearsay. Heresay would be if someone in the meeting told someone else who told the league. There were bunches of players, coaches, trainers etc there that could have provided a statement.

You and the rest of Hootat nation seem to think a rock solid muder conviction type collection of evidence is required. Soem of the legal minds can explain the level of proof required but I think Williams has already provided statements with the details of the program including others involved (Vilma).

This case is Vilma vs. Goodell. The other suspensions will not be lifted. I suspect they have already passed deadlines for additional actions which makes them a done deal.

He is such a baby. Just like the rest of that organization. They want to distract everyone from the fact that they are being punished for pretty severe stuff and they just want people to feel sorry for them them and rally for them. They loved when people treated them that way after Katrina and they are hoping for the same kind of treatment now.

This is awesome.

Bad for the sport, great for the fans in the rape dome, bad for team overall, great that someone is standing up to the Don, and awesome that Drew Brees may finally get his explanation.

I hope the truth comes out and whoever deserves it (I could not care less who) gets splattered all over the media for months and eventually run out of the game.

Good for him. Someone needs to put a stop to Goodell's heavy handedness.

Actually i'm hoping this is the beginning of changes in the way the NFL hands out penalties. Goodell being convicted of defamation would certainly bring those changes. It just makes me really uncomfortable that ONE person plays the judge and jury on punishments handed out.

Didn't know the NFL was a democracy.

Why? Another site I'm on doesn't. Nor do they get in trouble for posting links to ways to watch PPV free. It's multiple times larger than this site too. Zod either needs to grow a set, or get away from whomever would get mad at such things.

or you can go make your own site.

zod's just protecting himself from getting busted or sued. can't fault a guy for that.

this site actually used to be named the panthers huddle before the NFL decided they didn't like it as i'm sure many here remember.

i can't say i blame someone for watching their ass and playing it straight re: copyrighted material in the current climate.

sites that have the "balls" to mess around with copyright laws are more stupid and reckless than anything and probably don't have as much to lose as zod does.
