Vilma Suing Goodell

I think this is all a ploy, and expensive ploy, to get Goodell to make the evidence public (and probably the identity of the informants too). Vilma has to know there's no way he's going to win this. Especially since I haven't seen Goodell say anything that hasn't been backed up by other people. Everything he's said, he said he got from sources (Hargrove and Williams' admissions in particular). If he completely lied about what those guys admitted to, then maybe Vilma has a case. I'd guess that's incredibly unlikely though.

Vilma realizes of course that this is going to get dragged into court and his teammates are going to be subpoenaed and give depositions and it will tear their locker room apart right? What a tool.

This is an excellent point. What if the people that snitched are still on the Saints* roster?

I was giving the Saints* a shot to make the playoffs but after thinking about this, I think the Saints* will be lucky to finish .500 this year.

More than likely, Goodell was trying to keep everything as quiet as possible. With all the injury lawsuits coming, the less info and press about bounties, the better. Vilma probably thinks Roger doesn't have have any evidence, and he's probably going to end up embarrassing himself.

What is so funny about all of these responses is that no one mentions the obvious. Do you really think Vilma would sue the commissioner of the NFL if he didn't believe what he has said all along? He never participated, paid, or intended to hurt anyone. There is no proof and Goodell knows it. You can't make public statements about people that defame their character when you don't have proof and this is exactly what Goodell has done. This will be the end of him!

Just trust me that this is from a very well connected federal prosecutor from another form.

Yeah this is absolutely insane by Vilma, I'm guessing he knows his career's over and doesn't mind nuking everything to make the NFL look bad. The standard he has to meet here is so ridiculously high because he's a public figure, and the NFL is going to get to go after everything it got stonewalled on in the real investigation, starting with Vilma himself. He's going to lose, it's going to be very expensive, and he's going to look bad losing.

Only time will tell, but from what I've read since Bounty Gate has been brought into the spot light, Vilma had put up 10K to take out Favre and Warner, both games seemed like the Saints* were playing a little dirty, AP complained about people Saints* players twisting his ankle in the pile (all you Saints* fans laughed it off and said all kinds of stuff to dispute his claims), TENN complained about Harpers play, and he had some dirty penalties called against him, and a also TENN players complained about how Harper walked by and kneed a player while he was down, the late hit on Steve Smtih who was 5-6 yards in the end zone, the Bucs complained about you guys go after their knees on the sidelines, this was all just last year, so you can deny whatever you want, but deep down you know your team is dirty, and most likely you have embraced it, but now you act just like any other criminal would and demand to be proven guilty in the court of law before you admit how dirty you really are...
