because jake's our guy, and if we got somebody else he wouldn't be our guy anymore, because when somebody starts at qb no matter how good or bad he does, he's your guy, and declaring jake our "guy" is more important than anything, because he's our guy, and nobody else's guy.

lol:d

I'm sure Carl Carey is out there leading the way in this deal.

That's the part that makes the story tough to buy.

Could it happen without Peppers having signed his tender? Yes, if Carl Carey arranged the deal.

Ummmmm... :skep:

Would I take it if it happened? Yes. But while I have no trouble believing a radio station may have floated this as a rumor, the chances it's got any basis in truth seem...well, slim.

Pep sign his tender? How in the world would a three way trade be negotiated without Hurney being integrally involved?

Don't be so naive. These negotiations happen all the time without one team talking to another team or another player. How did Moose sign with Chicago 3 seconds after free agency started? Or Haynesworth with Washington 5 seconds after free agency started?

They talk to some "guy" who talks to the other party. That way they can say, "we never talked to to them". They're making conversation with some "guy" who happens to know the other team/player. Shocking, I know.

I live about an hour away from Sacramento, and if he is talking about the station I think he is talking about, those guys conjure up all kinds of stories that always seem to benefit the 49ers, so I wouldn't give it much credibility. Let me paint an equivilent picture for you guys, so you can grasp what I mean.

Imagine if Lone Buc Fan was a sports talk radio DJ in Florida. He wouldn't be on the air 10 minutes before you'd hear that Tampa is working on a trade to bring in Peyton Manning and Reggie Wayne, while giving up Freeman, Ronde Barber, and next year's 2nd rounder, citing that Indy was all over it because Peyton is getting older and they need secondary help for to Bob Sanders...

IF Peppers would have signed his tender before the draft and the Panthers would have agreed to trade him it would have looked something like this

Panthers get:

2009 2nd round

2010 2nd round and/or 3rd

A three down player

49ers get:

Peppers

2010 1st round

They would swap first round selections because of the value that the Pnathers made the playoffs last year.

If this guy lives anywhere near me, I'm embarassed. We get 2 second rounders and some random Jackoff and they get Pep & a 2010 first? I want to smoke whatever he's got stashed away, because it is some good sh*t.

Just another useless rumor.

Indeed that seems the be the problem.

Personally IDT Pep is going anywhere but I would welcome a trade that got us an additional second rounder as well as a freaking amazing 4-3 DT. Personally in Meeks defense I don't think we would really lose that much with pass rushers like Brown and Johnson starting...

    • Start with Bryce, this is like his rookie year. The 1st 2 games proved her was wired wrong and it looks like (we hope) he needed a time out to reset and be the player that was drafted. He's still about a year or more away from being a top 15 QB, if the Panther give him another playmaker or 2 (a top WR and a decent TE) and maintain that line. Canales deserves credit as playing that card correctly to motivate (or refocus) his QB for one last shot to decide his and the Panthers immediate future. As a Panther fans we should hope he keeps improving as we invested so much to get him. CJ Stroud will never have a season like he had, even if he stays a top 10 QB. He's got great character so I'm rooting for Bryce to continue on his positive journey. Canales is playing the week to week thing with bryce perfectly. Nothings guaranteed, earn it weekly which builds consistency and consistency is greatness.  Keep the O-line. They've got to extend Brady C, along with Mayes that have a real good 7. Great job Morgan starting with the big guys upfront.  I really hope they draft a DE or OLB in the 1st round. Getting Brown back with A Robinson and what DJ has shown that we can have a decent D-line. Need a CB in the early rounds/ or a time FA to go with Horn.  The future as to next year being good enough to challenge for the division is within reach. Just show progress (win or lose) every week. Kudos to Dan Morgan. Plays GM like a LB. Tackle the problem and move on, don't just hope it works out. Find guys with your playing mentality and work closely with your HC to share a vision. Teamwork starts at the top and flows down.
