I do not think the Saints* are nearly the franchise we are. We let Pepp walk by not putting another tag on him, I dont think NO/Benson would do that. I think he would keep putting that tag on. And I agree that they have put themselves in this situation and they had Brees signing the franchise tag in their mind all along as part of their strategy.

Why hasnt another team that could desperately use an elite QB just swooped in n offered a huge contract to Brees liking? If he played in another division or conference for that matter I might be able to like him a little bit just for the fact of leaving the Saints***

This is the reason I believe Brees will make a stand. If they continue to franchise him they're gambling with his livelyhood. If Brees gets a career ending injury he will receive no more money...he wants reassurance of a long term contract. If he signs the tender this year id bet my left nut that he would def. not sign it again and would hold out.

During the holdout Brees was one of a few player who were completly against the franchise tags being a part of the new CBA.
