They went out and signed a bunch of guys with the money they didn't spend on Brees. They can't sign him to a 20 million dollar a year contract without cutting folks they need to compete. They could afford year 1 as the signing bonus usually is coupled with a minimal year 1 salary. But starting next year his salary would be rather large and limit how many big contracts or free agents they will be able to sign.

Why hasnt another team that could desperately use an elite QB just swooped in n offered a huge contract to Brees liking? If he played in another division or conference for that matter I might be able to like him a little bit just for the fact of leaving the Saints*****

The Saints* put the exclusive franchise tag on Brees no one else is allowed to talk to him, if they did it would be tampering.

I thought the Colts would jump all over this before the draft and still have a #1 overall pick to choose or sell to the highest bidder.
