3-Row Suvs/minivans

Teverse or Acadia

We test drove both when my wife was getting a new car. She opted for the Toyota Sienna because getting young kids in and out of the Travese was a pain for her. They sat up too high.

Then again, she is only 5'1'', so any type of SUV is a pain for her. She liked the sliding doors on the minivan and the lower entry point.

But, the Arcadia/Traverse is a great vehicle.

had a Montero with the 3rd row and it was perf. Mini vans are like briefcases. If you have either, you are compelled to put stuff in it for no reason other than point A to point B.

Utilitarian my interweb brotha.

They still sell mitsubishis?

I hear those korean cars start falling apart in two years, and not stuff covered by the warranty.

Well it's got a bumper-to-bumper 100,000 mile/10 year warranty and a lifetime powertrain warranty... so if it does fall apart I will be sitting at the Kia dealership honking the horn.

I can't speak on behalf KIA, but thats total b.s. Where did you hear that, not consumer reports, not j.d power and associates, etc.

I have sold Hyundai's for 6 years and have a pretty good handle on the industry as a whole. They offer a better warranty than anyone else, period.

I don't necessarily want one....but I will say that Hyundai has come a long way since the 90's

Unless you drive a pickup truck or minivan(2 things hyundai does not offer) I am sure you could be sold on one. Hyundai is killing the sedan and midsize SUV market right now. If you live in charlotte then you'll notice more new Sonata's driving around than any other new car (best selling vehicle in greater Charlotte are for past year).

and you are 100% correct about your assessment from the 90's to now. They have made a complete 180 degree turn in strategy since then. Hell back in the 80's they debuted with a piece of poo call the Hyundai Excel that had an MSRP of 5k. Now the most expensive model the Equus tops out in the high 60K range.

jesus, madhatter...I didn't realize you were married to a hobbit!? :)

She is taller than my first wife...who was only 4'10'' and 92 lbs.

That one decided that she was a lesbian after we were married for a little less than 2 years.....but that is a WHOLE 'nother story.

Hyundai used to be the low cost/cheap made alternative. But, about 5 years ago they made huge R&D investments and went after the big boys on quality. That is when they started offerign the 5 year bumper to bumper warranties and lifetime powertrain warranties....to entice people whow were buying Toyota's and Honda's to make the jump.

They are fantastic cars (this is my second Hyundai...had an Azera before). NEVER had an issue with either.

Kia is where Hyundai was. But, they too are making strides. They were bought by Hyundai if memory serves me.
