NFL Executive

I'm excited at what this kid Everette can do. I liked him the best out of all the DEs in the draft. Orakpo may have been more "talented" and had the "prototypical DE size"---whatever that means, but in any event they are comparable and Everette's work ethic is better so I gave him the nod, and I'm glad it worked out that way that it was HE who fell down to the second round.

We have scary speed on the out side now with Brown Johnson, and Taylor. If Peppers decides to play we have prob one of the best DE group in the NFL. I just hope Meeks can use this to his advantage but hey it dont get much worse then Trgo IMO so whatever he dose is a plus.

Rather have a B- or a C+ "Draft Rating" with:

2 43 Everette Brown DE Florida State

2 59 Sherrod Martin S Troy

3 93 Corvey Irvin DL Georgia

4 111 Mike Goodson RB Texas A&M

4 128 Tony Fiammetta FB Syracuse

5 163 Duke Robinson OT Oklahoma

7 216 Captain Munn. CB South Carolina

Then a D- or an F "Drafting Rating" with:

2 59 Sherrod Martin S Troy

3 93 Corvey Irvin DL Georgia

4 128 Tony Fiammetta FB Syracuse

5 163 Duke Robinson OT Oklahoma

7 216 Captain Munn. CB South Carolina

Great point. Seriously...

We went 12-4 last season and we lost how many starters? We developed a young squad last year, who now have playoffs experience and you are worried we wont atleast make the Wild Card?!?!? Who is going to win our the NFC south exactly? Will it be the Falcons, who had one big season, with a QB in Matt Ryan that I really like, but has only had one good year and still lacks experience... I guess Tony G put them over the top? I dont think so.

Maybe you think it will be the Saints who still lack on the DEF side of the ball, a team we consistantly play good DEF on and a team that stands no chance at all if Drew Brees gets hurt for even 2 games this year.

Or th Bucs could REALLY challenge us for the title since they have done nothing but cut starters and draft poorly. Yeah your right, we will probably have a 4-12 record this season and have traded away our top ten pick in the draft next year. Even if we have a top ten pick next year, we still got the guy we would need a year early and for 2nd round money not top 10.

But yeah your right, we will suck because of our schedule and the FO will prove themselves to be just a stupid as they were last year when everybody said it was stupid to trade this years first for Otah... really? that was stupid. EVERYBODY will agree that move was great... but now we the same kind of thing and it is stupid? If it was a good move last year than why is it bad this year. Again, dont look at Brown as a 2nd round pick, because he is a first round pick, just drafted in the 2nd somehow. We didnt trade for a 2nd but a 1st for less money.

I think you're severly underestimating what the rest of the teams in the division did this offseason. In case you forgot the falcons went 11-5 last year with a ROOKIE Qb and head coach. Just imagine how much better Ryan is going to be now with more experience and now a hall of fame TE to throw to. Plus they drafted Lawrence Sidbury and Peria Jerry to team up with John Abraham. Thats going to be one scary defensive line for years to come.

The Saints still have the #1 offense in the league and they've made some nice additions to their defense. But the main thing you seem to forget ...they play both the lions and the rams next year while we play arizona and Minnesota. Thats a big difference right there and you can bet two games will play a HUGE role in the division standings next year.

The only team in the division Im not too worried about right now are the bucs because they are clearly rebuilding. But I wouldnt count them out either.

The panthers had a decent draft. But so did the rest of the teams in our division. In fact, they've probably made more overall improvements to their teams this offseason than we have except for maybe the bucs.

The draft doesn't make teams.

Big headlines in free agency doesn't make teams.

Talking heads on tv and fans sitting on the couch can armchair all they/we want, but realistically they/we have no clue what any of the teams are doing to prepare for the upcoming season.

A second stringer in one scheme is a starter in another. A raw rookie to one team is a key contributor for another.

I personally don't care about any pick, in any round. It doesn't matter. What matters is what happens on the field. Production, production, production. With a productive pass rush, the secondary is able to do their job. The FO took a risk to fix the key issue we had on defense for the past few years, same as they did with taking a risk last year to upgrade the offense. Gimme several more pressures and hits a game, and a few sacks here and there, it will help. ALOT
