This legend/myth (and that's exactly what it is) is part of the problem with Tesla's modern legacy. People are motivated by a variety of reasons to shoe-horn him in to their wacky conspiracy theories.

Here's the thing. That conversation between Tesla and Ford may have happened, but there's no way of confirming it. Thus, there's no reason to believe it took place.

That's why I said it was a story. When someone says "there's a story..." it implies that it may or may not be true, and that the person doesn't necessarily believe in it's truth.

Also: I've had a fascination with Tesla for a long time, it wasn't a Youtube video or the internet that inspired that. Having the whole mad scientist thing going has piqued my interest for years. Since I was a little kid, in fact.

I'm just driven mad by revisionist history, conspiracy conjecture*, and pseudoscience, so this thread is hitting one of my sore spots.

*Note: I use the word conjecture rather than theory beucase the word theory denotes a basis on repeated observation or similar.
