Panthers 2011 Dt Grades From Pff

LOL @ using PFF for X's and O's talk.

Their site is ridiculously flawed and I can't believe people would actually pay for that crap. According to that site, Willie Colon was the best pass protector from 2008 to 2010. LOL.

They have some nice things on their site, I'll give them that. But I absolutely would not put much stock in their grades, especially for the defensive line, pass rushers, or offensive line. The way they account for pressures and whatnot is stupid.

their grading scale is weird in some areas for sure. I like all the other stuff they track more than their actual grades. As far the x and o talk i was more referring to game tape. If I took their word for everything than no need to go back and watch the games.

So in your opinion of our last 6 games, what did our DT situation look like? Were they better?

Have not gotten through the whole season yet. From watching live and going off memory(former pothead tho) from the actual season it seemed like we did do better towards the end as far as generating pass rush.

Suh and Cox are quite different players. Suh was a no brainer top 3 pick.

Fletcher Cox's mom and agent would never compare him with Suh...who dominated most every game when he played.

Cox is closer to T McClain than Suh.

You weren't talking about skill level you were talking about his size 1st of all.

Secondly really???? Cox is "closer" talent wise to a 3rd round pick then another 1st round pick?

as high of a bust rate as they have in the 1st, that's not as exaggerated as it sounds...

DTs have a higer bust percentage than QBs in the first round so...yes

A one year guy, 10-15 lbs undersized, was a second round grade till late so yeah...if there was a picture of Suh and a picture of Mcclain and you had to say what career path he would probally closely mirror it would be McClain.

When you threw out he is the same size as Suh there is an insinuation that he is comparable with Suh...or why throw him out there at all? He is not a prototypical sized DT..simple as that and will probally need two-three years to get to a peak level...just like Mcclain will.

Criticizing Fua, McClain, and Kearse really shows football ignorance. They sucked. MOST every rookie DT sucks. First rounder, second rounders. If you had high expectations for them, considering we had no offseason last year, then you probably beleieve in the tooth fairy too.

They will be better in 2012. How much better is the queston. What happened last year should not be used to gauge them.

Name the FIRST ROUND rookie DTs who were stellar in their rookie years since 2005.

Now look at the list:

2005-Travis Johnson, Mike Patterson

2006-Hgloti Ngata, Broderick Bunkley, John McCargo

2007-Amobe Akoye, Justin Harrell

2008-Glenn Dorsey, Sedrick Ellis

2009-Peria Jerry, Ziggy Hood

2010-Ndamukong Suh, Gerald McCoy, Tyson Alualu

2011-Marcel Dareus, Nick Fairley, Phillip Taylor, Muhammad Wilkerson

How many of the players listed above had solid rookie seasons? These are first rounders--not third rounders.

Again Ninja wasn't talking about what they did in the pro's. Their is no way with Cox having not played a game yet.

We are talking about skill sets

Cox

2012 NFL Combine Results 40-Yard Dash 4.79 Bench press 30 Vertical jump 26.0 Broad jump 8'7 Three-cone drill 7.07 20-yard shuttle 4.53

Suh

2010 NFL Combine Results 40-Yard Dash 4.98 Bench press 32 Vertical jump 35.5 Broad jump 8'09

McClain

2011 NFL Combine Results 40-Yard Dash 5.00 Vertical jump 28.0 Broad jump 8'8 Three-cone drill

7.48

Seems a lot closer to Suh then McClain.

What 3rd round rookie without OTA's, mini camps and all that comes out and dominates in their first season? Jesus fuging Christ man..

It seems like Panther fans have the most excuses in the world for players.

"GUYS! Stop calling Clausen a bust wait until he has a competent coaching staff" What did he do? NOTHING

"GUYS! Armanti Edwards is gonna flourish under teh Chudz just wait guyz lol" What did he do? NOTHING

"GUYS! Stop calling Everette Brown a bust, Rivera will know what to do with him" lol he got fuging cut, and did absolutely NOTHING

The fans are so fuging oblivious, and the "Stop questioning Hurney attitude and the coaching staff" is almost sheep like, as if you all are all fuging sheep.

You were talking about size and how Cox was undersize. On what planet is 6'4 305-307 undersize?

I merely pointed out success on the next level makes his comment far less exaggerated than it may sound at first, ninja..

Amobi Okoye- 5.5 sacks

Mccoy- 3 sacks

Marcell Dareus-5.5 sacks and was one of PFF's highly graded run defenders

Phillip Taylor- 4 sacks

Sedrick Ellis- 4 sacks

Tyson- Alualu-3.5 sacks

Muhammed Wilkerson- 3 sacks

That sounds pretty fuging solid to me.

Sione Fua- 9 tackles, yes. Nine fuging tackles. NINE TACKLES

Mcclain actually has a chance, but Fua is pure ass.

Cox hasn't played a game yet so can we really talk about success on the next level? But beyond that Ninja called 6'4 305-307 undersize. Which mean every DT on this team other then Shirley and Krease are under size.

    • Saints and Seahawks both making a push for Cooper Kupp The Rams receiver has at least two teams that are very interested in signing him. According to The Athletic, the Seahawks and Saints are both making a push to sign Kupp. The Seahawks could certainly use another receiver after trading DK Metcalf and cutting Tyler Lockett. As for the Saints, they don't have a ton of salary cap space, so it will be interesting to see if they can meet Kupp's asking price, which is apparently around $13 million or $14 million per year.

    • Running back Kareem Hunt is returning to the Kansas City Chiefs on a one-year contract worth up to $2.5 million, a source told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler on Friday.   He returns to a backfield led by Isiah Pacheco that also added former San Francisco 49ers running back Elijah Mitchell this week.   Hunt, 29, joined the Chiefs for his second tour with the team early in the 2024 season after they placed Isiah Pacheco on the injured reserve list. Hunt led the Chiefs in rushing with 728 yards and seven touchdowns. He also rushed for 117 yards and two touchdowns in three postseason games.
