Shirley Could Be The Odd Man Out In Dt Battle.

its no way you can say Fua was bad and give McClain a pass. they both were equally bad. plus they played 2 different positions and had 2 different roles.i still say Edwards is the odd man out.

Yes I can. I think they both were bad but Fua was worst at what we ask him to do. He could not hold up as a NT. Maybe that will change with a offseason of bulking up getting stronger and learning the position.

And would you like to make a Sig bet on the Edwards thing.

Not one time? Then what of the plays where he caused of defensive stop or pressure. They happened. He didn't play well but to say he didn't show flashes at anytime is a exaggeration.

Rivera himself made the comment of Fua showing improvement while McLain was struggling

Name 1 please. Name one play you remember Fua making.

McClain had a drive stopping sacks versus the Vikes.

How about in week five when he played agianst NO, and beat Brian De La Puente for three tackles for no gain and a hit on Brees?

Do you really think Rivera was mistaken when he made the comment of Fua?

He had 3 assisted tackles and 1 solo are you serious? Also what about the 5 games after that where he record no stats? 0 tackles 0 sacks 0 every thing.

Three of the four were behind the line from him beating a pretty good center. The fact that he wasnt the only one who tackled doesnt take away from that. And Nfl doesn't register hits.

From PFF who watched the Film and specifically each Dt that game.

"Fua improved for the third week in a row and had a season-high three stops, whereas McClain only has three stops all season, despite being on the field for more plays than Fua, who has nine. In this particular game, McClain kept getting taken inside by the Saints**** guards, whereas Fua got the better of his matchup with Center Brian De La Puente, beating him several times"

And what does the other five games have anything to do with your argument? You asked for one time. No one is arguing he didn't play bad for the season overall. And do you think Rivera was mistaken?

so because im not willing to bet, im not backing up my word? go look at other threads this is not my 1st time saying this, and dude it aint that serious.

So you actually think Ron Edwards isn't going to make the team and people haven't called you stupid before?

As already been posted in this Thread a few of us don't think PFF is worth a crap in their grading system any way. So using them to help you make a point matter less to me then using Bleacherreport.

They have a player at #1 who played in 3 games top.

3 ast. tackles could also mean he got there after the 1st guy and just fell on the RB.

This isn't about there grading. They sat and watched the tape and saw him make plays from behind the line. They typed what they saw. This isnt skewed by grading or some formula. If you throw that out, then your throwing your own argument in which your using what you saw.

Considering there a objective source and are inelligent people don't see why It should be debated in this instance that there wrong. It's not a easy mistake to make. They would be able to make out wether player made a play or just fell on him. That's why they watch the tape.

And once again, if you don't believe anything else, believe our coach who specifically stated Fua improvement and McLain struggles.
