Here's another interesting one:

According to legend Lightbringer was forged 3 times.  Tempered in water 1st, then 2nd in a lion, and then in the heart of Nissa Nissa.  Ice has been through the water bit and Tywin melted and reforged 2 of them from Ned's ice with new red jewels.  If it's reforged again, it would have a reddish hue due to the jewels.  Ice becomes Fire.  The ASoIAF's title is about the Valryian steel blade.

Right now, Tommen has Widow's Wail and very interestingly--Brienne has Oathkeeper who's caught up with the BwB who are connected to Melissandre who I think will realize it's Valyrian and take it to Jon.

Melissandre will essentially be Jon's Nissa Nissa.

Isn't Longclaw a Valyrian blade? That would allow him to use it instead of Oathkeeper.

Longclaw is a bastard sword so maybe when he discovers he's really not a bastard is when he'll somehow come across Oathkeeper.  I think Mel may seek out the BwB and could use it to bring Jon back or something along those lines.  That'd be a cool possibility although I prefer a Bloodraven/Bran/Reed intervention over Mel.

Question for everyone since this is my favorite thread in the sub forum and it's been dead for awhile.

What are some of the crazy theories you guys most believe to be true and why?

-Bolt-On is crazy as hell but I don't actually believe it.

-The alchemist, Jagen, and Daario are all the same person....or Daario is Euron.  Those are the only two Daario theories I like from what I've seen.

-The world wide weirwood

My favorite batsh*t crazy one:

-Howland Reed permanently warged into Arthur Dayne at the ToJ and that's why he stays at Greywater Watch.

-Ned's trip to Starfall interests the hell outta me.  Winterfell and Starfall, Stark and Dayne...for some reason I think there's a connection.

The World of Ice and Fire comes out at the end of this month. I think there are lots of spoilers about historical events in it. Maybe even a confirmation of R+L=J. I heard there was some long accepted rumor that was squashed with something in the book, too. I think it was speculated in this very thread that it was Tyrion being a Targaryen.

Yeah I've had that pre-ordered for a looooong time. I've talked some with the guy and wife who wrote it and strangely the part I'm most excited about is more info about the Daynes. He still believes the theory that Dawn = Lightbringer.

  • 2 weeks later...

sooo today I came across a new VERY interesting theory...

could JORAH MORMONT be Azor Ahai?!?!?!?!

http://www.reddit.com/r/asoiaf/comments/1xk337/spoilers_all_so_about_that_guy_who_captured_a_lion/

I'm going to have to read that OP again because I couldn't follow it....but I did like this theory about Roose being the only Bolton and puts up with Ramsey because.....

http://www.reddit.com/r/asoiaf/comments/1xe89h/spoilers_all_bolt_on_apply_directly_to_the/

Thesis: There has only been one Bolton patriarch.

Support: Recall the Faceless Men and their methods for disguise. They use the cured skin of other people's faces, and magically fuse these masks to their faces with their own blood. They assume that person's identity, and no one's the wiser.

...

But what if there was another reason Roose was keeping Ramsay alive? Why did Roose spare Ramsay when he first found out that he had a bastard? Ramsay had his eyes. Roose is keeping Ramsay around, because Roose plans on stealing Ramsay's identity. Roose plans on stealing Ramsay's face.
