He is away more than he is with her, it seems. Lots of interesting coincidences going on there, if nothing else.

Also, I now believe Euron murdered Balon.

Interesting.....there really does seem alot to support D=E.

I do remember Asha or was it the priest saying Euron arrived 1 day after Balon "fell" off the bridge. And a friend just reminded me that Arya was told of the assassination by the old lady.

"I dreamt of a man without a face, waiting on a bridge that swayed and swung. On his shoulder perched a drowned crow with seaweed hanging from his wings."

Euron = a faceless man? That would make it a lot more interesting and could even lend more to D=E.

IIRC Euron is big into exploring and looting the entire world, so maybe some talents picked up in Braavos might come in handy.

There is a theory floating around that Euron hired a faceless man to kill Balon, possibly using the dragon egg he found as payment

They're not doing LSH at all in the show.

There was a lot of online conversation. I heard third-hand that you were basically told that it’s not likely to ever happen. Is that accurate?

Yeah, the character’s dead. She’s dead.

Really stupid idea by the writers.

I don't think it's set in stone yet. There was also a blurb that it was ultimately up to Dan and D.B. and I took it, at this point, that there would still be a chance even if there didn't appear to be one.

It could also be some epic trolling.

That said, if they've found out from GRRM that LS is basically a go-nowhere character down the road that is ultimately unimportant to the story, then I figure they will indeed leave her out.

I mean really, all us book readers know at this point is that she hung some Freys and Brienne and Pod. They could have Pod killed off on the show and have something else happen to guide Brienne's storyline. I won't get as worked up over a zombie Cat getting excluded as I will about Euron or Victarion. I think Arya is going to be the character (in the books and in the show) that gets the dark retribution that UnCat seems to placate.

Book to film/Tv usually combine multiple characters to a single role. LS revenge hangings can be done by someone else who is more involved in the story arcs. I'd put money on Manderly since he's fond of Frey pie. Was his son actually mentioned at being at the RW on the show?

The place I always assumed they were going with the story is that Brienne takes over as leader of the Brotherhood after they realize how evil LSH is and double-kill her.

She could easily still end up with them without LSH in the picture. Why else would they even have them in the show in season 3 if they'll never come up again?

He wasn't mentioned but I remember seeing screencaps of a man with a Manderly sigil broach.

FWIW the whole Beric/Thoros stuff could have just been for preparing folks for what happens with Jon Snow...

Can someone explain what a faceless man is doing in the citadel

Speculation is that they are doing research on dragons. There is one book mentioned (I think by Tyrion?) that there are only two known copies of about dragons. One is at the Citadel.

Why they would care about dragons is debateable. Some think Euron paid a FM off with a dragon egg to kill Balon.

I suppose a dragon would be the ultimate weapon of the god of death, but I really don't think they'd take an interest in it.

Another theory is that he's there for a hit on someone.

I don't really know.
