Cowherd Says We Go 7-9

Recommended Posts

I like being cautious too. But I also recognize when change happens and improvement occurs. Compared to last year, this special teams unit is already improved. At worst it's average. That's at worst. Last year it was horrendous, you can't deny that.

no offseason

first year in new system on offense and defense

first year for coaching staff

rookie QB

half the defense was first time starters

lost beason and davis as well as the starting DT they were planning on before week 3.

rookie udfa starting at RT most of the season

there is no way that something like that could end well....but somehow the team finished with 6 wins.

heading into this coming season, most, if not all, of those things will be rectified. it's hard to imagine this team not being significantly better just because of those factors and along with that at least a couple more wins.

add in upgrades to STs and we should easily have a winning season. short of a lot of injuries to very key players i can't imagine us not having at least a winning season. in fact that is where the bar is set, imo. there is really no excuse for not having a winning season short of big injuries.

The only way I would pay any attention to Colin Cowherd is if him and Skip Bayless had a live cage match against each other. Two douchebags enter, only one comes out alive. This would rid the world of at least one uninformed sports douche which may not solve the problem, but is a good start...

For those of you backing Cowherd's football "knowledge." You are the crowd that he caters too with his lack of information and overload of opinion and trending topics. He only talks in absolutes which gives his fans (like the OP) the false presumption that he knows what he is talking about.

Barring injury.... with a young team last year that now has gametime experience, the most versatile QB in football, great depth in the rushing game, Jon Beason, Ron Edwards, and potentially T. Davis returning from injury... we will be an overall better team than we were last year. Cowherd is just shooting from the hip on this one... and someone decided it was thread worthy.

You can't tell a damned thing from that tape. You have no idea how quick he is compared to healthy NFL players. All you can see is that he's working hard. There are lots of hard working athletes that get cut every season.

are you serious bro? You clearly arent an athlete yourself. For a guy his size to move and change angles that fast is amazing. He looks like a strong safety moving that fast. He is working 100% so his injury is no longer an issue. Training camp for a prize fighter is 8 weeks to get in to the best shape possible so give me a break "I got bronchitis! aint nobody got time fo dat!!!!!"

Don't you mean the Titans game?...that was the worst beatting we took as a team last year...atleast in the other games our offense could atleast score...30-3 was a beating....but that game and the 2nd NO game were the worst

Damn I forgot about that game. Maybe I blocked it out subconsciously because it was too traumatic? Like when you see something fuged up as a kid but don't remember it as an adult? Just the same, you see my point that we were at least very much competitive in nearly every game, against quality opponents.

So he thinks we are missing the playoffs with the Saints* in disarray, Michael Turner on the downside of his career, and Greg Schiano in his first year at Tampa?? No way...if we are less than 10-6 this season will be a disappointment.

at 75%, Beason is better than 75% of the LBS in the NFL.

No he isn't. Love Beason but he isn't that type of rare breed. You can make that claim about freak shows like Peppers....not about hardworking pedal to the medal guys like Beason. Beason is JAG at 75%. Maybe not even that b/c I consider Anderson JAG

I heard it too. Cowherd (and I admit I like listening to him) sells us short in my opinion. I think we can sweep TB, and split with ATL and NO**. That's four wins right there. I think we can squeeze out five more (against Seattle, DEN, KC, Washington, and OAK). That puts us at 9-7. And as much as I enjoy listening to him, I also remember Cowherd was dead set against Cam last year. But he did have the cojones to go on the air and admit he was dead wrong about him, too, when Cam lit everything up.
