20 Of Our 22 Starters Were Originally Drafted By Us

We'll see how it comes together.

Teams like GB, Pitt have been doing that for years, hopefully we'll have similar results in the future as we actually have a franchise QB now, which helps a TON.

Surely you see that this hasn't actually been a good thing.

How so, we got our franchise QB and were finally on our way to going somewhere. I think Cam, Smitty, J Stew, D Will, Kalil, Gross, Beason, Gamble, Anderson, and CJ are a pretty solid core to build around.

we were 2-14 and 6-10....dont pop the champagne yet

2-12 was under the John Fox era and the same year we prepped for the lockout. The 6-10 record was under a rookie head coach with no offseason to prep his team. I have been going back and watching all the games from last year. So far I have made it to the Chicago game. We Could/Should have easily beat AZ if it weren't for a couple blown coverages that led to wide open TD's and the embarrassing easy return Patrick Peterson made. We hung tight with G.B but did deserve to lose to that one. Chicago game was another one that minus a few unfortunate penalties and special teams meltdown would have been a win. The future is Bright with this squad that has been mostly drafted.

    • Karlaftis and Danna have been pretty inconsistent so teams have been doubling Jones and able to contain their pass rush.   But the good thing is that yesterday, we schemed well against Steve Spags Defense, Canales married the surrounding personnel with his QB through play designs within his comfort zone and was able to get downfield at will.  He was able to execute higher difficulty throws and look a lot more comfortable.  It tells me that Canales has a good system in mind, and had an edge gameplanning wise against Spagnuolo - which is nice to see.  It's a bit to see-saw at times with either going way too pass heavy or way too run heavy, but I think he's finding out what works.  It takes time to have it come together, and sure, I could see regression happen against a better front-7, but this was good for the entire system gelling.
    • This was evident first two weeks of season. I don’t see any issues with physical tools since he came back. I think he is a player that must play with confidence to overcome those size limitations and he’s doing that.
    • Still 3-10 on passes over 15 yards.  At least he's not scared to merely attempt them anymore.  Where I see improvement is the 10-15 yard range.  He was 6-6.  Bryce of old was scatter shot on anything beyond 10 yards and the further out, the worse the accuracy.
