Bobcats Interested In Jerry Sloan?

We’re hearing that the Bobcats may take a look at Jerry Sloan to replace Paul Silas.

The former Utah Jazz coach would be a tremendous, out-of-the-box choice and the first indication that Jordan is committed to turning his seven-win team around.

The obvious connection between Jordan and Sloan is that they both have their numbers hanging from the rafters in Chicago’s United Center. Beyond that, Jordan has great admiration for the coach he twice defeated in the Finals, at the end of his second three-peat.

Sloan might be tempted to return to the sidelines, if the situation and money are right. But what about taking over a team low on talent and embarking on a long rebuilding campaign, while working for an owner who doesn’t have deep pockets, doesn’t like to spend money on players and has been looking to sell half the team for close to a year?

Sloan is a GREAT, HOF head coach. But I can't help but think this team needs a young mind behind it. I don't know. If Sloan creates a really good coaching staff including a younger successor, this could work.

Sloan WAS a GREAT, HOF head coach TEN YEARS AGO.

that's what the Bobcats have...or should I say had now. How did that work out?

What's the saying? when you have two coaches you don't have one?

Sloan is still a HOF coach right? I think we all know his greatest work is behind him, that was to be implied.

And to answer your question no. I don't think we have a young mind behind the team, unless you are talking about Cho. I'm talking about a coach. There are good up & comers that would make good options.

Anyone whos white.

Other than Ewing, wouldnt mind him.

And people call KT a racist. There is a difference between joking and being blatantly racists and with me being a black person, I did not take this as a joke.

Why not a black person?

race doesnt matter, just give me the best coach/players...... i felt when bob johnson was here the team overly persued the pushing of black coaching and front office personel. all the marketing was def targeting blacks. since jordan has been here its just a UNC alum which is horrible, i just want the best people for the job. how hard is that?

SNO is a white racist. The mods had to delete one of his racist threads earlier this week. The old let me dump on a black person to build white solidarity tactic backfired.

Nightcrawler most people want the best candidate for the job. But some of the white males in our community feel entitled that all their heroes to be white males. So if our black owner hires a black coach, it rubs them the wrong way. They hate multi culturalism, and hate seeing blacks in positions of authority (ex: me running this board, Bob running the Cat, Cam QBing our team) . You will never hear or see one of these folks complaining JR has hired too many white people or Wells Fargo has too many whites running the show. They want blacks tied to labor ONLY (athletes, working for whites) and not CAPITAL and OWNERSHIP

. Its very much a new south white male mentality Im describing. And its always PROACTIVE, not REACTIVE. They always throw the first rock, much like they did in this thread.

As for Sloan he'd be a great hire and would bring a toughness and work ethic to our team. Age would be the only factor.
