Players We Will Regret Passing On In The Draft?

Recommended Posts

If statistics hold true for the draft and I put in every DT in the first round we will potentially regret not drafting 1/3 of them and will be happy we passed on the other 2/3rds. If McClain or Fua improve quite a bit this year, then we will regret nothing.

I forget who WFNZ was speaking with in regards to Amini..actually i think it was Todd McShay.

-they asked why would we pass on Still and Worthy in the draft to get Amini: the scout stated strongly, " Still and Worthy are just some guys who can contribute, Amini is a perennial pro bowl type G and you do not pas the chance to take a guy who explodes into guys and has the speed to get the secondary blocks.

This is a statement I have seen many times from multiple guys.

Im just seeing a lot of Amini regret bc none of us have really seen him...He seems like a favorite of many scouts-draft experts and our busts in the second round have been mostly guys who had serious questions...which Amini does not seem to have.

Pretty useless talking about regrets. Like coach Fox says, "It is what it is." But it's kind of nonsensical to talk about having regrets about not picking certain players before you've even had the opportunity to see how they will perform at the pro level. You haven't seen even the slightest sampling, much less have any appreciable data or observations to base having any regrets. By the same token, you haven't seen our draft picks perform at this level. Moreover, a football team is more akin to a puzzle than just having willy nilly pieces that you may consider the "best" but don't actually fit the picture you're trying to envision and piece together.

I feel good about Kuechly and Silatolu becoming great players, so there's no one in the first 2 rounds I'll regret us not taking.

Also I went back and looked at some of Cams designed runs out of the gun, and notice that Wharton was the lead blocker/pulling guard on a majority of the plays. Just image Silatolu leading the way for Cam on some of those runs. Wow! Just Wow!
