Floyd Mayweather & Cam

Recommended Posts

What are you talking about? He even challenged Pacquiao to a fight for May 5th. Instead, Arum came up with more BS and Floyd had to settle for Cotto. Mayweather wants to fight him.

He did challenge Pacquiao, but he said there's no way he'd take less than the lions share of the purse. In other words, he placed an unrealistic condition on the fight that he knew would not be accepted. But then he spouted off that Pacquiao was ducking him, when most everyone knew that was not true. But that's been Mayweather's M.O. for years, come up with some lame condition to avoid a fight, then try and blame Pacquiao.

The thing is, It's possible Mayweather could win if they fought, but Floyd knows the only way he could do it is by outpointing him. However, he also knows that he wouldn't have the massive speed advantage against Pacquiao that he has against everyone else, and Pac-man has the power to put him down. And with his own questionable power, a slugfest would not be good for him. Really, there is too much risk for him to actually fight Pac-man. So he comes up with excuses to avoid the fight, yet keeps it in the media so he can capitalize on the hype for a fight that he will never truly accept (of course, unless Pacquiao starts showing signs of decline).

That was the first time he issued a challenged Pacquiao...and like i said he tried to rush it before he had to go to court( knowing Manny would say no on short notice). Manny has issued challenges to Floyd for years and Mayweather always comes up wih some bullpoo reason not to fight. Floyd doest want that 1 l.ose on his record

He just challenged him again after he stomped Cotto.

You're argument is invalid.

Why shouldn't he? Numbers prove he's a lot more marketable than Pacquiao is and has continually drew more money and PPV buys.

Arum is the reason this fight won't ever happen. The only people who don't see this are blind Floyd haters. Not saying you are but it's been proven this year that Arum dislikes Floyd greatly and won't allow his star client, Pacquiao, to fight him.

Look no further than Arum going from "we want to fight on May 5th" to "we'll only fight in June." Or claiming Pacquiao has a severe eye injury that won't allow him to fight to May to Pacman debunking that lie. Arum doesn't want his cash cow to potentially lose.

Is Mayweather an A-Hole? Yes he is. But anybody who blames him for this fight not happening is in the wrong. It is all on Arum. He doesn't want the fight and until Pacman drops him, I'd be surprised if it ever happened.

EDIT - By the way, I will try to get the link/numbers soon but even if Money got 60% of the cash from the fight, Pacquiao would still be earning the largest purse of his career.

To be honest, I don't care one way or the other about Floyd, but in no way do I think he ever wants to really fight Pac-man. Arum's not the reason the fight won't happen, it's Mayweather that puts out the ridiculous conditions to make sure it won't. Pacquaio has relented on many issues (including the absurd Olympic testing demand) in an effort to get Floyd to actually fight, but then Mayweather just comes up with something else to keep this fight from happening.

Floyd's demands are not ridiculous. Here is the link I promised you.

Pac's biggest purse ever is $7.4 million. That isn't even close to what Floyd makes for pretty much all of his fights. Even if the split isn't 50/50, Pacman is still making FAR more than he's ever made. Money has nothing to do with it.

Pacquiao said it himself he'd be willing to take less money than Mayweather.

Arum is certainly the reason the fight isn't happening and if you can't see it, I don't know what else to tell you. Arum has continually changed his excuses from "Pacquiao has a severe eye injury" to "We will only fight in June/July (despite him earlier saying they wanted a fight on May 5th)" to stadium issues to blah blah blah blah. Arum doesn't like Floyd. Arum doesn't want the fight. I don't understand why some can't see that.

im suprised cam didnt walk out with floyd after seeing beiber 50 cent and HHH

If Cam has a publicist, he'll be getting advise to not do anything to associate with that douche.

If PBF wasn't such a complete douche, he'd be tripling his prize money with endorsements. The guy has the skills to be a Michael Jordan level endorsement athlete, but instead, most big brands don't want to be associated with the guy and his image.

Look, I'm not going to go ***-for-tat with you on this, it really isn't worth the work to find the info, but it's not as simple as you are making it out to seem. I know you are a fan of Mayweather's, so of course you are looking at everything with Floyd colored glasses, but he has no real interest in ever fighting Pacquaio. Pac-man is just too dangerous and risky of an opponent.

Fair enough, but please just take a look at this.

Maybe Floyd doesn't want the fight, whatever, there is no way you or I will change the others opinion on that. But Arum clearly doesn't want the fight either. He's been changing up his stance and excuses on the entire thing for a long time now.

Mayweather is an incredibly talented boxer, but I honestly can't fathom how anyone can be a fan of his. The guy is a complete piece of poo. He lacks a single redeeming quality as a human outside of a boxing ring.

Floyd is actually a really nice guy if you knew him. The "Money" thing is his act (part of it is anyway). The reason he keeps it up is the same reason he pulled in 32 mill tonight. I think it was Muhammed Ali who said 100% pay to see him fight.. 90% want him to lose.
