saw it yesterday absolutely loved it. they really did a good job pulling all those characters together into a good story line. The visuals were stunning and I thought the 3D was awesome.

I read really negative reviews of this movie like this:

"care, somebody please care what I have to say. I'll show them, I'll be controversial!!! That'll get their attention!"

You don't have to love it, but to call it a terrible movie is a cry for attention. Frownie Face.

My only quip with the movie was this.. Spoilers.

kinda feel like Cap got a little dissed. There wasn't much focus on his adaptation to the new world, or any scenes beyond his intro scene that were truly "his." They made him somewhat inept in the fighting, where he needed Iron Man's help taking down Loki, or when he got pinned down by gunfire, blown out a window, or tagged by a shot. I kept expecting their to be some redeeming moment where Cap's superior skills or what-not overcame some big enemy and redeemed Cap, showing what a bad dude he is, but it never came. It was also never balanced out by establishing that Cap is the group's leader and it's glue, either, which is what had always made Cap so essential to the Avengers.

I read in an interview with Joss Whedon that the film's original screen time was almost 3 hours, and that the deleted scenes were almost exclusively Cap stuff, so I wonder if the bulk of Cap's plot development was axed for the sake of time.

Also wouldn't have hurt to get some more Cap shield bashing in. There was a distinct lack of it in his movie, and I figured they would make up for it here, but it seems like Hawkeye got more "action-time" than Cap did.

Anyways, Cap's my guy, so I'm obviously a bit biased, but I just feel like their is a lot of untapped potential there that they've just pushed to the side, perhaps because they're scared of "banging the drum" to international audiences or the currently large amount of people in this country who feel it's cool to dislike America, or a variety of other reasons.

Hopefully they'll do a better service to Cap when his sequel and the Avengers sequel come out in two or three years, respectively, but I remember hoping that same thing after CA:TFA came out last year.

Anyways, all that said, I loved the movie. Probably one of my favorite movies of all time.

This movie is going to make a ton of money. I wonder if that might push DC into doing a justice league movie? DC has a problem though in that, with the exception of Batman, its characters aren't quite as interesting.

Read an article about how Marvel is using Thanos in the next Avengers to deter DC from doing a Justice League movie. It was only a speculation piece, and I'm not that informed on comic books, but supposedly Thanos is pretty similar to Darkseid, the logical choice for a Justice League villain. Since the villains would be so similar, Marvel struck first and basically handcuffed DC to choose a different route if they make a movie. No idea how accurate any of that is though.

This movie was exactly what you expect it should be. They FINALLY got Hulk right, imo. Stole the show.

Thanos is going to be a great villain. It wouldn't surprise me if they bring in X-men in a future movie either, since the two groups have a lot of history (and actually spent times with Avengers).
