Wasn't really any new info on him in the program. Deon says he's a bit mechanical in his motions, especially his hips. Mayock (spelling) called him short and slow. He ran a 4.44 in the 40 at the combine.

From a player evaluation standpoint, there wasn't much to see in the show. From a character/personality standpoint, he seems like a stand up, competitive guy. I liked his comments about team's grilling him during interviews at the combine. We've heard that he did have a fair amount of subpar plays and he says that the teams grilled him on them. Also he refused to play the blame game even when put in a situation where he's being asked what went wrong during a play and he wasn't at fault. This doesn't say anything about athletic ability, but it does say alot about how he feels about his teammates.

What I took from it was he's a fighter who will have quite an uphill battle on his hands to make the roster. I disregarded the 40 run because he seemed way too nervous for the results to show anything. Maybe he can work on his technique, but we gotta be honest with ourselves. He's a project that may not make it past training camp. We needed some fresh bodies to fill out the roster and fight for depth, and he is one of them.

We agree on how stiff he is. I took the various scouting reports I had read with a grain of salt, but hearing it from Deon, and seeing it for yourself, well yeah.....

Well, he doesn't look stiff during games, and that's all that matters to me. I think he's gonna be on our opening day roster.

Devin Hester didn't run a good 40 at the combine either - much slower than the time everyone expected. But, put the pads on and the guy is the fastest player on the field. Not saying Cap has Hester speed, but he looks fast in games. IMO, it's more important to be quick than fast, and that is Cap.
