Jacoby Jones Visiting Panthers

Recommended Posts

Competition for fourth string WR.

Competition for #2. Neither Lafell or Gettis has it locked up. Gettis is coming off of injury, Lafell made strides, but doesn't have breakaway speed like Gettis or Jones.

We'll see if they sign him, but he won't be a shoe-in at #2, if he thinks he will be.

Am I the only one that thinks Jacoby is clearly an upgrade over Pilares?

No. Theres just dumb people who believes in every players who wears a Panthers' jersey.

Im a person who believes in a player who can play every sunday. Not a player who wear a jersey every sunday.

Number 2? LaFell had less targets, more catches, more 20+ yard catches, and he had more yards per catch than Jones this season. Meaning he can explode away from the defender after catching the ball with his better hands.

Yah, meaning that lafell has a hard time getting open also.

This is a dumb post, and I knew someone would post it. Lafell never "exploded away" from any defender, and that's even on the 99 yard TD. He was gased, got walked down, and never would've made it without a key Smitty block. Same thing happened against the Vikings. Gased, walked down. He doesn't have breakaway speed.

Lafell seems to have pretty good hands, but his limited speed means he'll probably always be the third WR, with faster guys next to him.
