You can't argue facts. Although I am sure he will try. Payton makes Bellecheat look like the pope.

But we should feel bad for them guys! Players shouldn't have to find out on tv they were suspended, they have feelings!

/sarcasm.

It makes me sick that some people feel the need to have a pity party for these cheating bastards like they did nothing wrong.

I find all of this very interesting for some odd reason. I guess the more and more details come out, I will be more and more confused about it all. For example:

It was my understanding that ONLY the players were setting up these bounties, but now it turns out that felons in actual state penetentaries and half way houses were also emailing Sean Payton directly and putting prices on people's heads (so to speak)

WTF is really going on here!?!?!? IMO, he should never be able to coach again if this is true, especially if he told his players about these bounties and players actually recieved this "dirty money"

It's one thing if players are the ones running it (somehow its more respectable to me... As this has been known to occur throughout the history if the League) but for a damn criminal to email the HC and then for that coach to tell the players... Sean Payton should be fuggin banned FOREVER! I just lost any and all respect I had for that fugger!

I understand what you are saying and why you're saying it... But I disagree and here's why.

The NFL is a professional business. It makes the League look bad when the players involved were notified on National TV.

Did they know that they were facing suspension? Absolutely

I just expect more from such a highly supposed "League Commisioner" than this. It's very unprofessional.

I'm not saying to feel bad for the guys... And I'm not saying that they were necessarily "owed" anything based off of their actions. What I am saying is that at this level... Especially publicly, this was unprofessional and reflects badly on the NFL. That's all I'm saying.

I still hold the coaches and staff more accountable. While players like Vilma or whoever putting up money is despicable there is another angle that at least has to be factored in. Schlarath was talking last week about how when he played there were certain plays that the coaches required a cut block. If you failed to cut than it was a strike against your "grade" that could very well lead to a marginal player losing a job. There were likely unwilling participants who felt the pressure to be involved to an extent for job security. That leads to a gray area for me.

Agreed, I'm not really impressed with Goodell and this is just another thing....not the first.
