How Would You Feel If You Were Accused, Convicted And Sentenced

Recommended Posts

Oh and BTW, the head coach and former DC already admitted to it, so I'm not sure why Vilma is bothering to argue that it didn't happen unless he's telling us Payton is a liar?

Hey Vilma... just sit down, shut up and take your punishment like a man. You're damn lucky it didn't involve the word "indefinite".

I could care less about the players if it's determined that what they've been accused of its true. I have an opinion and a right to express it. Don't you think I didn't already know it wasn't going to be popular? It doesn't change that this is how I feel.

It has been determined that what they are accused of is true. The CBA gives the commissioner the right to collect evidence, review the findings and determine the veracity of the evidence. He also is in charge of the appeal process. The owners and players agree to it and that is the process. So he said the evidence is convincing so it is, just like a judge has the right to determine guilt or innocence in a court of law. Goddell has no reason to accuse players of things they didn't do nor would he have a reason to persecute anyone. He also doesn't have to share his findings or results with anyone in order to get confirmation of his decisions. If he decides to share the results with the player's union then he will but why would he if he believes that no matter what the evidence, the player's union won't agree given for example that Bree's is on the board and those being accused are a part of the union. They are not exactly an impartial group whereas the commissioner actually is.

No one is going to jail they just can't work in the NFL for a period of time. Similar to what happens if your employer suspends you without pay for breaking the rules.

Panthers55... I agree that the league is set up how u described. I don't agree with the process or that the players involved were NOT made aware of their suspensions by their respective teams... But instead by ESPN. That was just foul and very classless on Goodell's part. Granted that what the players were involved with was also classless.

I believe that Goodell has the responsibility to be a consummate professional at all times given his obvious position. I feel that what he did today was the opposite.

As I've said all along... IF* it were our players, how would WE feel about it. Nobody has addressed this though, instead they are preferring to knit pick my posts and ignore the entire pretense formy stance.

We are all in agreeance that what was done was wrong, we're all on the same side... I'm just asking a hypothetical. If it was about our players how would u feel.

I think that the OP brought up a very unpopular subject round these parts, but if u stop and think, it has legitimacy. If it didn't then WHY in the hell are players all accross the League in an uproar about it!?

If you are suspended, then why does it matter how you found out about it?

Do we know for a fact that the NFL didn't send any official notice to the Saints* and ESPN just beat them to it?

But again, I'm not really sure why it matters how you were notified?

So after Vilma recklessly endangered the health and safety of others players and lied to the league about it at every step in the process, the league owes him a courtesy?

If Vilma says he found out about it on ESPN why should we believe him?? He is the same guy still saying he didn't do anything wrong. Obviously the Saints* knew a severe suspension was coming which is why they have already replaced him. I am sure they communicated with the team about the specifics before releasing it to Espn.

As for the players not liking it, why would they?? Did you like it when the principal punished a friend in school whether he was guilty or not?? Same thing. No one likes when someone else gets punished if you think it could be you down the road. Doesn't matter if it is legitimate or not.
