Deangelo Williams On Vilma Suspension

So all the players on Twitter today just are saying the same thing so they don't offend 4 players? Get real. I know it may hurt you, but most players feel the same way on this issue. It doesn't make it right but they can never see how stuff said in the locker room could cause them to get a year suspension.

What in the heck are you talking about. When did I say that all players on twitter said the same thing that D. Will said? When did I say that any of the players don't agree with the suspension or support the suspension? What I said was that D. Will gave a political response, a response as to not directly offend either party, fellow players or his employer.

Political response implies he wasn't saying what he felt. He gave a truthful response, not a political one.

Spygate was cheating and was wrong but it wasn't at the expense of hurting players and possibly ruining their career. It was not close to being as bad as what the Saints did. It is like saying getting insider information to make money in the stockmarket is the same as assaulting people and stealing their stocks. Both are illegal, both are wrong, but only one hurts people intentionally.

As for listening to William's opinion about bounty gate versus spygate, without mentioning names, it is a good thing most players play football and become rich because a number of them are not very bright and would struggle to do much else.

DWill is definitely not the sharpest tool in the shed, I know that much.

He makes quite a bit of stupid comments on facebook.

One day he asked "Why do teachers get a work day, I thought they should be working every day?". He got lit up by teachers and teacher supporters all day lol.

Political response is shadowed with the truth but lacks bite. I can give a political response and be honest but not to the degree that I offend either side. I got my point across but I didn't burn any bridges. I'm not impling that he didn't say what he felt. I like the way he did it. D Will is classy like that.

it's not Goodells job to be liked by the players.

The NFL lawyers are worried about current and future lawsuits. Goodell is doing damage control and the lawyers will get paid. At the same time, Goodell, the owners and the fans love the violent game. I don't know what the solution is because all football fans including me love the big hit. I guess we are all savages in the end. Sorry for the bummer post but after I read about the Chargers having 8 dead players from the 1994 team and Seau's suicide, I wonder about the children of those players whose dads are dead. Of course, how about our fellow American brothers who have served in the military and have come home paralyzed, mentally changed forever, etc. Reality check. I really don't care what is posted after this. After all it's all about the money and if I would have been good enough to play in the NFL, I would have done it and wouldn't have cared about future consequences to my body. That is all and go Panthers.

The whole Saints* coaching staff should be banned just like Williams. You cant tell me they didnt know what was going on. And they allowed it to occur. Theres nothing wrong with hitting people in the chest and putting them on their ass. But to go after "ACLs" and "lets see how that concussion holds up".....total disrespect for the game of football.

Like I said, that Spygate thing was disgusting and IMHO almost just as bad. Patriots most def need an asterisk by their championships.

However, Belicheck never lied to the Goodell or denied doing it which is not the case with Payton.

The cover up is always worse than the crime.

Spygate did not involve assaults. Premeditated plans to injure would have been criminal if a bounty was ever planned and carried out. Even if you don't buy the assault perspective, a camera never hurt anyone.

What happened to the coach for the Jets who stuck his knee out on his own sideline to intentionally trip a player? Fired. Bountygate is worse.

Lying to the commish is one thing--not carrying out his orders is yet another thing. No comparison. Bountygate is way worse.
