no, it's goodell's job to protect the owners at any cost.

okay? i'm not how seeing how my statement ever said anything to the contrary. If he isnt concerned with how the much the players like him then of course he has to look out for the owners.

A very political reponse...

.

A very truthful response that is representative of the players. They take care of their business on the field so they will never understand how this suspension happened. But that doesn't mean Goodell didn't make the correct decision for the league.

I also think it's funny that you have 1500 former players suing the NFL over not doing enough to protect their health and then when the NFL takes steps like this to protect the health of players, they don't like it?

Yeah, like I mentioned earlier bro I laugh at all this propaganda from Goodell & the NFL regarding making the game safer and protect it's players. It should be called protect the league's bank account.

I am thrilled about all the saints suspensions and not because I care about justice but as a Panther fan i despise the TAINTS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anything bad that can happen to them, Im all for it. Now if we could just get something like that to happen to the Falcons, oh wait, they have Matt Ryan at QB, thats good enough for me.

I'm sure those players are all on the up in up and not just after the money.

Because the current players aren't "former" players yet and obviously not thinking about their future health after football. IMO they will be shocked.

To be honest I would have suspended Vilma for 8 games. A failed drug test is 4. Beating up a teammate is 2. Raping a girl in a bar is 6. Dog fighting was 4? Taking an entire year away from a guy is extreme, unless it was with pay. I hate Vilma but still it's harsh.

Honestly, I think what has brought down the mighty wrath of Goodell is the organization lying to his face.

Catman is right on the money what he said earlier. If the Saints would have just fessed up and apologized, they would have gotten of easier.

Goodell's interests are with the billionaire owners. Period. Not with some athlete who probably can barely read.

It's why I laugh at this "concussion" and "protect the players" bullshit regarding head injuries.

Please. The only reason Goodell is enforcing a strict policy on head injuries and trying to improve game safety is so that the NFL and the OWNERS don't get the sh1t sued out of them.

That's a very cynical view of things and I somewhat agree. But the motives don't really matter as long as they protect players.
